Preview:

The last two T20Is in this New Zealand vs India T20I series have provided fans enough nervy moments with two games finishing in the Super Over. However, the results haven’t been as desired for the New Zealand fans as the Kiwis have failed to cross the line on both occasions.

Being 4-0 down in a five-match T20I series, it hasn’t been a great outing for the BlackCaps in the series so far. With the final T20I of the series scheduled to be played on Sunday, the home team will aim to pull at least a game and prevent India’s rampant winning run in this series.

Match Details:

The fifth T20I between New Zealand and India will be played on February 2 at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui. The match begins at 08:00 PM local time (12;30 PM IST / 07:00 AM GMT). In India, the live coverage will run on the Star Sports network.

Team News:

Kiwis dealt with a major blow in the 3rd T20I when Kane Williamson injured his shoulder that ruled him out of the next match at Wellington. However, the Kiwi skipper is expected to make a return for the 5th T20I at his home ground. The other major concern for the home team will be the injury to Martin Guptill which he picked up in the 4th T20I. For India, there were no injury concerns and all the players were fit and available for selection for the last T20I of this series.

Predicted Playing XI:

INDIA

The visitors’ camp was all smiles after their fourth successive win over New Zealand. After resting a few players in the previous game, India might continue with the same XI that featured at Wellington.

Dream11 Predicted XI: Sanju Samson, KL Rahul (Wk), Virat Kohli (C), Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Shardul Thakur, Yuzvendra Chahal, Navdeep Saini, Jasprit Bumrah

NEW ZEALAND

After already having lost the series, Kiwis play for pride in the 5th T20I. It is highly likely that Williamson will return to lead the troops in place of either an injured Martin Guptill or Tom Bruce, who failed to make an impact in the last game.

Dream11 Predicted XI: Martin Guptill, Colin Munro, Kane Williamson (C), Tim Siefert (Wk), Ross Taylor, Daryl Mitchell, Mitchell Santner, Tim Southee, Ish Sodhi, Scott Kuggeleijn, Hamish Bennett

Indian top-order has been in sublime form in the series so far, The likes of KL Rahul Shreyas Iyer and Virat Kohli, have delivered times and again for their team. In the last T20I, Shardul Thakur and Navdeep Saini bowled their team to victory. For Kiwis, opening batsman Colin Munro showed signs of the return to form in the last T20I. Tim Siefert has also been impressive at various junctures in the series.

Dream11 Match Predictions:

The ‘Men in Blue’ will once go in as favourites to win the match. On the last two occasions, New Zealand have come close to secure victory but have failed in delivering the knockout punch to their opponents. It still remains to be seen if the hosts can keep their cool and not choke under pressure in the final T20I.
