IPL history: List of all IPL winners and Runners-up between 2008 and 2019

The inaugural edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 was a landmark in the history of Indian cricket. Ever since its inception in 2008, the cash-rich league has continued to bring some of the best cricketers to play under the same roof. And after 12 years of successful hosting, IPL has been instrumental in shaping the careers of various individuals who have gone onto represent their nation at the international level.

As far as the history goes, Rajasthan Royals emerged as the IPL winners in the inaugural edition in 2008. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians is the most successful franchise with four IPL title wins. And Chennai Super Kings holds the record for playing most IPL finals with record – 7 – appearances in the final.
