India are all set to tour Ireland for a limited-overs series and if you want to know the IRE vs IND head to head record, you're in the right place. We bring you everything you need to know about the history and stats of this rivalry.
Ireland were an associate member of the International Cricket Council (ICC) for a long time until they were granted Test status in 2017.
It meant Ireland and India did not face off more often, with their rivalries usually limited to games in World Cups.
The two teams met each other for the first time in 2007, when India toured the United Kingdom and Ireland.
It wasn't until 2018 that India and Ireland competed in a multi-match bilateral series. The Men in Blue toured Ireland for a T20I series in 2018 and more recently in 2022.
India's second-string side is scheduled to play three T20Is on this tour. The series kicks off on August 18, with the second and third games on August 20 and 23, respectively. All three matches will be hosted at Malahide in Dublin.
Indian fans have plenty to look forward to on this tour as it marks the much-awaited return of Jasprit Bumrah from a long injury layoff.
Bumrah will be leading the side, which has some exciting talents waiting for their opportunities.

IRE vs IND head to head in T20Is
Much like the fifty-over format, the IRE vs IND head to head matches in T20Is have also been pretty one-sided barring one game. The first time they met in the shorter format was in the 2009 World T20, where the men in blue came out on top by eight wickets.
In June 2018, India toured Ireland for two T20Is. They posted 208 in the first game courtesy of Rohit Sharma's 97 and Shikhar Dhawan's 74. Kuldeep Yadav picked 4 for 21 as they clinched the game by 76 runs. India were even more ruthless in the second game, winning by 143 runs after posting 213 on the board.
The first match of the previous series in 2022 saw India come out victorious by seven wickets in a rain shortened 12-over contest. The Irish batters went hard at the bowlers and fought till the end but fell short by a heartbreakingly narrow margin.
