New Zealand is scheduled to tour India for three ODIs and T20Is each starting from January 18 it will be another fantastic addition to the IND vs NZ records. The tour will begin with the three-match ODI series and it will be crucial for both teams given the World Cup is set to be played in India later this year. The first ODI will be played at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad while the next two matches of the series will take place on January 21 and 24 in Raipur and Indore respectively.
The three-match T20I series will commence on January 27 in MS Dhoni’s hometown Ranchi. Lucknow and Ahmedabad will host the last two T20 Internationals on January 29 and February 1 respectively as New Zealand’s tour of India will conclude. The shortest format takes a backseat at least for this year with the ODI World Cup in sight and hence, the main players are unlikely to feature in the series.
New Zealand has already rested their white-ball skipper Kane Williamson with Mitchell Santner taking over the mantle. Even Tim Southee is not a part of the squad, perhaps he is also set to miss the ODI series.
As for India, the BCCI is yet to announce the squad for both ODIs and T20Is. It is expected that the players like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma will miss the T20I series with a focus only on the World Cup. The same strategy had been applied last year before the T20 World Cup and the second-string team used to play the ODIs.
In this situation, Hardik Pandya might lead the T20I side like he has been doing over the past couple of series now.

Just like in ODIs and T20Is, New Zealand have managed to go one up against India in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. The two teams faced each other in Southampton in 2021 and the team led by Kane Williamson won a much-deserved ICC trophy beating India on the reserve's sixth day.
Batting first, India posted 217 runs on the board thanks to key contributions from Virat Kohli and Ajinkya Rahane scoring 44 and 49 runs respectively. In response, New Zealand couldn’t build a big lead with Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami sharing 7 wickets between them. The Kiwis could only post 249 runs. India, behind by 32 runs, didn’t put in a great effort with the bat in the second essay and got bundled out for just 170. The target of 139 runs on the final day was not much for the Kiwis as they reached home with 8 wickets in hand comfortably getting their hands on the ICC mace.
