WTC Final – Match Preview
The final of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship between India and New Zealand is nearly here. While India prepares at Southampton, the venue for the WTC Final, the Kiwis are engaged in a two-match Test series against England.
After finishing their quarantine, Team India began their preparations at The Ageas Bowl with a 4-day Intra-squad match. Virat Kohli and co. will be hoping to tick a few boxes before they take the field for the final showdown against the BlackCaps. India's most discussions would revolve around the team combinations that they might opt for the marquee clash.
It's Day 2 of the intra-squad match simulation.

It is likely that Men in Blue will trust Ravindra Jadeja's ability to bat at No.7. The other point of debate could be the inclusion of Mohammad Siraj over Ishant Sharma in the playing XI.
On the other hand, New Zealand will be oozing with confidence after a win in the 2nd Test against England at Edgbaston. Despite a few of their key players missing the Edgbaston Test, the Kiwis managed to secure a convincing win against the hosts on Day 4. The likes of Trent Boult, Niel Wagner, Devon Conway, would definitely be key to New Zealand's success against India in the WTC Final 2021. Skipper Kane Williamsson has been struggling with injury but is expected to fit in time to lead the Kiwis in the final starting June 18.

What to Expect – Pitch Report & Weather Conditions?
Pitch Report
The Pitch at The Ageas Bowl in Southampton is one of the few surfaces in England which have a considerable amount of assistance for spinners. The pitch will assist the seam bowlers with lateral movement off the surface. However, with good bounce and carry, batters can also eye a huge score once they settle in. Spinners are likely to get greater purchases from late day 3 onwards. All things considered, ICC will prepare a wicket which augurs well for exciting cricket action for the entire course of five days.
Weather Report for IND vs NZ WTC Final, June 18-23

As per reports, Weather is predicted to play a part in the IND vs NZ WTC final in Southampton. The weather on most days is likely to be sunny with light showers predicted on nearly four days during the WTC final 2021. As per the BBC weather forecast report from June 18 to 23 (reserve day), there will be passages of sunny intervals with the light breeze across the Test match duration. However, day 3 on June 20 is predicted to receive rain for a considerable duration. In order to compensate for any overs lost in the Test match, the play will also continue on the reserve day i.e June 23.
Team News
India

India will expect the senior likes of skipper Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ajinkya Rahane, and Cheteshwar Pujara to raise their game on the huge occasion. The pace trio will be keen to perform in these favorable conditions and help the team secure an upper hand in the proceedings. Rishabh Pant could play a decisive role in determining India's fortunes in the much-anticipated clash. Fortunately, Team India does not have any injury concerns and will hope that all players are available for selection on the match day.
New Zealand

The biggest concern for Kiwis will be the injury to their skipper Kane Williamson. Though Williamson missed the second Test vs England on precautionary basis, he will be eyeing a return in the WTC final. Ross Taylor's return to form will give a major boost to their chances in the middle-order. Opener Devon Conway is in scintillating form and will be a huge threat for India in the final. The team management will have a happy headache to choose from a brilliant quintet of pace bowlers in their WTC playing XI.

Top Fantasy picks for India vs New Zealand WTC Final
India

Virat Kohli
Indian skipper will be keen to perform in this marquee match against New Zealand and clinch his first ICC trophy as captain. Virat Kohli is a very consistent batsman across all formats. He has really good numbers at Southampton, and averages over 50 as captain at this venue. He had a horrible series in New Zealand, so he will look to change his numbers against the Kiwis and put a masterclass of his batting against a top-quality pace attack.
Jasprit Bumrah
Jasprit Bumrah has had a tremendous career in Test cricket so far. He took 14 wickets in just three Test matches in England including four scalps at Southampton in the 2018 series. Bumrah had a rich outing against BlackCaps in 2020 and will aim to produce another match-winning performance against the same opposition. The 27-year old has a knack for picking wickets from hopeless situations. Even in the WTC final, Bumrah can be India's trump card to account for the majority of Kiwi batters.
New Zealand
Devon Conway

The Kiwi opener is going through a purple patch ever since he'd landed on the English soil in 2021. He scored a double hundred on his Test debut at Lord's. The southpaw has looked certain of his technique against the moving ball and has played the England attack with absolute ease. He even scored crucial 80 runs to set the foundation for his team to go past England's lead in the 2nd Test. Given his current form, Conway can be predicted to muster most points in the Dream11 Team for the IND vs NZ WTC final among the NZ batters.
Trent Boult
Trent Boult was back at his best after missing the first Test against England. The left-arm swing bowler enjoys bowling with the dukes' ball in England. Boult has even exposed India's batting deficiency against the left-arm bowler in the past. He will be a huge threat for the Indian batters and would be aiming to account for the opposition's top order. The 31-year old is a must-have in the Dram11 Team against India in the final.
