SL vs IND – Series Preview

The Indian Cricket Team will tour Sri Lanka for a limited-overs series starting next month. BCCI has announced a 20-man squad including six uncapped players for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka. Shikhar Dhawan has been announced as the captain, along with Rahul Dravid, who has been named the India head coach for Sri Lanka 2021.

The Indian team management has shown confidence in a lot of youngsters. Players like Devdutt Padikkal and Nitish Rana are in line to make their debut against SL. On the bowling front, the likes of Chetan Sakariya and K Gowtham were rewarded for their IPL stints and consistency exhibited in the domestic tournaments.

On the other hand, Sri Lanka will host India after participating in an away tour of England 2021. Eventually, the host nation will need to get prepared beforehand as they face a strong Indian team. The Kusal Perera-led side will need to chalk out strategies in averting loss at the hands of the Indian team in July.

India and Sri Lanka will lock horns against each other for 3 ODIs and as many T20Is. While a month-long tour will kickstart from July 18 with the 1st ODI, the visitors will reach the Island nation on June 28.

SL vs IND 2021 T20I series schedule

The three-match T20I series will commence on July 25. Due to covid-related protocols. the Sri Lanka cricket body has decided to conduct all the matches at the R.Premdasa Stadium in Colombo. The third SL vs IND which was originally scheduled to take place on July 27, was postponed a day after Krunal Pandya tested COVID-19 positive before the scheduled start of play.

As far as the timings are concerned, the ODI matches will start at 1:30 PM (Local) while the T20s begin at night hours at 8 PM local time.
