Rajasthan Royals unveil their jersey for IPL 2023

Rajasthan Royals have released a new video to unveil their jersey for IPL 2023. The two-minute clip calls the new kit the ‘Pink of 2023' and has them gifting the kits to groundsmen in a wonderful gesture.

RR will be sporting pink yet again this year in what is a very different jersey colour to those of the other franchises.

Sisanda Magala called up by CSK as replacement for injured Kyle Jamieson

The video footage shows them gifting new kits to the groundsmen at their home ground, the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur and hails them as their ‘main stars'.

“At the Royals I feel the firsts are always very important and very special, so this season myself and the whole management decided that we’ll give our first jersey of the season to the groundsmen. I just wanted to thank them for all the care they have given us,” Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson says as seen in the video.

Why do Rajasthan wear Pink?

Pink is the primary colour in Rajasthan's kit keeping in mind the identity of the main city in Rajasthan state, Jaipur, also called the ‘pink city' due to the dominant colours of the buildings in the city.

The kit also has a dark blue shade as was the case in the last few seasons. The inaugural title winners of the IPL had sported blue when they were crowned champions under former legend Shane Warne in 2008.

How are Rajasthan shaping up for IPL 2023?

Rajasthan enjoyed a spectacular season in 2022, reaching the final after terrific signings at the auction and a good performance in the league stage.

Led by the impressive Samson, Rajasthan were outstanding in the league stages, notching up nine wins in 14 matches to reach the playoffs.

Samson himself had a brilliant season with the bat and it helped him gain a few outings with the Indian team.

Rajasthan's Achilles Heel last year was the absence of an all-rounder at No.7 that could plug the batting depth issue they had. This year, though, they come reinforced by the addition of Jason Holder, the West Indian all-rounder, who could act as the glue between the batters and a terrific bowling line-up.
