SRH vs KKR – Match Review | Yesterday IPL Match Result

On a slow Chennai wicket, KKR was up against SRH in Match 3 of the VIVO IPL 2021. Nitish Rana and Rahul Tripathi did the bulk of the scoring for KKR and helped the team post 187 runs in the 20 overs. Despite some economical bowling from Rashid Khan, KKR unleashed their batting might to post such a commendable total. With the deteriorating nature of the pitch, it was always tough for SRH to chase the total especially with the early loss of David Warner. Manish Pandey and Jonny Bairstow showed some resistance but couldn’t help the Orange Army pull off a result in the SRH vs KKR Yesterday IPL match.

After being asked to bat first, KKR was off to a flier start with the openers scoring 50 runs in the first six overs. Especially, Nitish Rana, who took the attack to the SRH bowling line-up and helped his way to match-defining 80-run knock. After the early fall of Shubman Gill, the duo of Rahul Tripathi and Rana got together and put the foot on the pedal to accelerate the scoring rate. A third-wicket partnership of 97 runs helped KKR post 187 despite a flurry of wickets in the middle-overs. A lower-order blitz courtesy of Dinesh Karthik (22 off 9) proved to be a significant contribution in the context of the SRH vs KKR Yesterday IPL Match Result.

Chasing 188 runs for victory, SRH were jolted twice in the first powerplay with skipper David Warner and Wriddhiman Saha getting back to the pavilion. However, it was the partnership between Jonny Bairstow and Manish Pandey that resurrected SRH’s innings. While Bairstow went for the attack, Pandey played second fiddle. But once after the loss of Bairstow, SRH couldn’t keep the run-rate in check and eventually lost the game by a margin of 10 runs. KKR bowlers kept it tight and chipped in with regular wickets to successfully defend in yesterday’s IPL match.
