The Dream 11 IPL is underway in UAE and we have witnessed some quality cricket. It is understandable that the intensity was not the same as the previous few editions as most of the players are playing after a long layoff. Hopefully, in the upcoming weeks of IPL, we can see some more close finishes.
In Week 1 of the Dream11 IPL, before the KKR vs SRH contest, teams chasing won only once out of seven times even with captains opting to chase bowl first on all occasions. We had one match going to Super over but most games were one-sided affairs. CSK, RCB, and KKR lost their respective games by huge margins. Hopefully, we will see the difference in trends in the coming games.

Here's a look at the Dream11 IPL T20 team for the first week | Week 1
Mayank Agarwal
Mayank Agarwal played one of the best innings of his IPL career and almost won Kings XI the game single-handedly against Delhi Capitals. Unfortunately, the KXIP lost the match in a Super over. The Indian Test opener took responsibility against DC after his team was in a spot of bother. It was an atypical innings from Agarwal, who is always known to play his shots, In his 89-run knock against Delhi, the KXIP opener opted for a measured approach before going for the glory shots in the death overs. For his uncharacteristic knock, he makes it to our Dream11 IPL T20 team from Week 1.
KL Rahul (C & Wk)

Owing to his stunning knock of 132* against his former team RCB, KL Rahul makes it to our Dream 11 IPL team. He now holds the record of the highest individual score by an Indian and by a captain in IPL. More than his runs, his fitness for the entire duration of his knock was quite incredible. Also as a captain, he has done a commendable job. With 153 runs from two matches at a strike of 173, he looks a possible candidate to claim the Orange Cap in IPL 2020.
Faf Du Plessis
Faf seems to be batting on a different level at the moment compared to his other teammates at Chennai Super Kings (CSK). The absence of Suresh Raina coupled with injuries to Ambati Rayudu has been a blessing in disguise for du Plessis taking the onus upon himself. Even though CSK resembles a pale shadow of themselves, Du Plessis with 173 runs from three innings is the leading run-getter in IPL 2020 so far. He also makes it to our Dream11 T20 team of the first week.
Sanju Samson

The talented Rajasthan Royals opener, Sanju Samson showed glimpses of his brilliance in the game against CSK. His knock of 74 was an exhibition of brutal hitting which included 9 sixes and a solitary boundary. The Royals franchise would hope that Sanju can replicate his success even in the upcoming week of the ongoing IPL season. It will be crucial for the Kerala-born player to keep continuing his rich hitting form in the forthcoming matches for RR.
AB De Villiers
Mr. 360, AB de Villiers makes it to our Dream11 IPL XI as the second overseas player alongside his fellow South African teammate. With 79 runs in two outings, ABD is the highest run-scorer for RCB in the season so far. His innings of 51 in the first match against SRH played a key role in helping RCB. He, along with Virat Kohli will once again be vital for RCB in the coming few weeks.
Marcus Stoinis

Delhi Capitals seemed to have found a new finisher in Marcus Stoinis. He scored a match-winning 53 from 21 balls in his first game for Delhi Capitals and bowled a tense last over to help them the match. Subsequently, DC won the super over and is looking the strongest team of all. With some luck, he single-handedly took DC over the line and thus makes him name feature in our IPL XI from the first week.
Ravi Bishnoi
Bishnoi will come into our team as an uncapped Indian player. The leg spinner who has also represented India in U-19 WC was touted as the bowler for the future and has done his reputation no harm. He has taken four wickets at an economy rate of 6.75 bowling against some of the world's finest players. The joint highest wicket-taker for KXIP along with Mohammad Shami and Sheldon Cottrell, Bishnoi will look to continue his good form with the ball to give his team the best chance going ahead.
Kagiso Rabada

The current Purple Cap holder in Dream11 IPL 2020, Kagiso Rabada walks into our team. He was simply brilliant in the two games for Delhi taking five wickets at an ER of 6.75. Rabada also bowled the match-winning spell in Delhi's Super over win over KXIP. Batsmen are finding it very difficult to score runs off him either at the death or in powerplays. Rabada's form is a major boost for DC.
Shivam Mavi
The young speedster from KKR, Shivam Mavi overshadowed Pat Cummins in Kolkata's first match this IPL season. After a lacklustre 2019 season, Mavi has started on a bright note for KKR. In a high-scoring encounter against MI, he gave away only 32 runs picking up two wickets. He was the lone bright spot in an otherwise poor looking bowling scorecard for KKR against Mumbai Indians (MI).
Mohammad Shami
Another player from KXIP finds himself in this XI. The experienced Indian pacer, Mohammad Shami has been by far the best bowler along with Kagiso Rabada in this tournament. Shami has taken 4 wickets at an average of 8 and a stunning ER of 4.36 and looks to be good rhythm going forward. This form of his will help KXIP to continue their good performance so far with the ball.
Yuzvendra Chahal

The Indian wrist-spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal seems to have found his groove right from the game one for RCB. His game-changing spell of 3/18 was a demonstration of high-quality leg-spin bowling. He is the leading wicket-taker for RCB along with Shivam Dube with 4 wickets at an ER of 5.37 which is great for a spinner. We have to wait and watch whether he will inspire RCB in the coming week.
