Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are all set to lock horns in Match No.37 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 on Thursday, April 27 at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
The Royals, led by Sanju Samson, are placed third in the table with eight points and a net run rate of +0.844 thanks to wins in four out of seven matches. They will be a tad low on confidence after losing two matches in a row against KL Rahul's Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Faf du Plessis' Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
The Royals will go into the game after losing to RCB by seven runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. They will again to the top of the table if they beat the Super Kings.
The Super Kings, on the other hand, went to the top of the table after beating the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 49 runs at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Ajinkya Rahane has been in stupendous form for them, having played at a strike-rate of nearly 200. Moreover, he won the Player of the Match against KKR for his unbeaten 71 and earned a recall to the Indian Test team.

Best match in the Rajasthan Royals vs Chennai Super Kings head-to-head
The Royals and the Super Kings crossed swords in an absolute thriller on April 12, 2023, at the Chepauk. MS Dhoni rolled back the years with his power-hitting, but RR went on to win the match by three runs.
Here is a look at how the match unfolded:
After being put in to bat first, the Royals scored 175 for the loss of eight wickets. Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal laid the platform with a partnership of 77 runs for the second wicket. The right-handed Buttler racked up 52 runs off 36 balls with one four and three sixes.
Padikkal scored 38, while Ravi Ashwin and Shimron Hetmyer notched 30 runs each. Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers for the Super Kings as he finished with figures of 4-0-21-2. Akash Singh and Tushar Deshpande picked up two wickets apiece.
Devon Conway and Ajinkya Rahane put on 68 runs for the second wicket, but the required rate kept climbing for the Super Kings. With more than 40 runs needed to win off the last two overs, Jadeja and Dhoni tried their hearts out, but their efforts went in vain.
With 19 required off five balls, Dhoni smashed fast bowler Sandeep Sharma for two sixes in a row to keep CSK alive. But Sharma held his nerve to take the Royals past the finish line. It also happened to be RR’s first win at the MA Chidambaram Stadium since 2008.
