IPL 2023 playoffs format
The IPL 2023 playoffs will comprise of three matches, Qualifier 1, Eliminator and Qualifier 2. Now let us look at how the format works.
Qualifier 1
The Qualifier 1 of IPL 2023 will take place on Tuesday, May 23 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. The teams, who will finish on first and second in the points table after the league stage, will lock horns in the game at the Chepauk.
There is a big advantage in finishing in the top two as teams get two chances to go through to the next round. Even if teams lose the Qualifier 1, they will have another chance to make amends and qualify for the final.

Teams playing in IPL 2023 playoffs
Gujarat Titans became the first team to advance to the IPL 2023 playoffs. The team, led by Hardik Pandya, also made sure that they will take part in the Qualifier 1.
Chennai Super Kings followed them into Qualifier 1 with a win over Delhi Capitals in the final league game and will face Gujarat Titans in the Qualifier 1 at home in Chennai.
