Lucknow Super Giants

Lucknow Super Giants are at the second position in the table with five wins in eight league matches. In the bowling unit, Yash Thakur returned as the pick of the bowlers with four scalps, while Naveen-ul-Haq impressed with his variations to pick three wickets.

Royal Challengers Bangalore

Royal Challengers Bangalore have been average with their performances to secure four victories in eight games. Their batting unit has crumbled under pressure in the last few games, while bowlers have leaked runs in the death overs.

In the last game, RCB conceded 200, with Wanindu Hasaranga and Vijaykumar Vyashak picking two wickets each. Thereafter, Virat Kohli (54) and Mahipal Lomror (34) tried hard, but the lower middle-order could not be proficient enough as they lost by 21 runs. Shahbaz Ahmed has failed in this season, and is likely to pave the way for Anuj Rawat in this game.

RCB Possible 11: Virat Kohli (c), Faf du Plessis, Shahbaz Ahmed/Anuj Rawat, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik (wk), Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj

Pitch and expected weather conditions

Surprisingly, there is a 60% chance of rain in Lucknow on Monday, May 1, which will cool the weather down to around 25 degree celsius. The fast bowlers might get help due to the moisture embedded on the surface with the new ball, while the spinners will come into play after 10 overs. The totals of around 150 will be a fighting score on this deck.

LSG vs RCB Dream11 prediction

Wicket keepers: Nicholas Pooran
Batters: KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis
All-rounders: Glenn Maxwell, Krunal Pandya, Wanindu Hasaranga, Kyle Mayers
Bowlers: Naveen-ul-Haq, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohammed Siraj

Recommended captain: Virat Kohli

For LSG, the West Indies batters, Nicholas Pooran and Kyle Mayers are in bright form in leading the charge for the team. Mayers has been terrific with his intent to provide blistering starts, while Pooran has been consistent in providing final flourish for the team. Meanwhile, captain KL Rahul has blown hot and cold, but will look to come to party in this game.

Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis, the openers of RCB are expected to be proficient in giving starts to RCB, but the conversion to big scores would be imminent for the franchise. The all-rounders, Glenn Maxwell, Krunal Pandya, Wanindu Hasaranga have experience and good form leading up this game, with Krunal acting as a vice-captain for your team.

In the bowling unit, Naveen-ul-Haq has been impressive with his line-length and variations to provide breakthroughs, while Ravi Bishnoi has been taking wickets consistently in crunch situations for LSG. The key to RCB’s victory has been Mohammed Siraj, who is the purple cap holder with 14 wickets.

Match prediction: Lucknow Super Giants to win

Although Lucknow Super Giants have a 2-2 record at home, they will back themselves to continue the winning momentum. The trio of Amit Mishra, Ravi Bishnoi and Krunal Pandya are expected to keep Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Glenn Maxwell quiet on a slow surface. Additionally, LSG batters are in good form, which would help them be upbeat against the RCB bowling attack.

Toss prediction: LSG to win the toss and bat first

In all their five victories, LSG have coincidentally batted first. In the last game as well, they posted a mammoth total and managed to defend the score easily and would look to continue the same plan. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if the KL Rahul-led side breaks the jinx by chasing down the score to win the game.

Man of the match prediction: Krunal Pandya

In the last game played at Lucknow, Krunal finished with figures of 2/16 in four overs, and bowled primarily in the first 10 overs due to the nature of surface at this venue. With the bat, he contributed 23 as well, and is likely to convert his starts into big innings. The southpaw is the key player to help LSG top the points table with his all-round performance.

Betting odds

Lucknow Super Giants: 1.82

Punjab Kings: 2.025

The betting odds are slightly in favor of Lucknow Super Giants at this point of time due to their dominant victory against PBKS. On the other hand, RCB will be under pressure ahead of this match-up due to a loss against KKR in the last game, and their close loss in the reverse fixture earlier in the tournament.
