While most of the top five in the race for the most sixes in IPL 2023 is quite tight, one man stands head and shoulders above the rest of the pack.
It’s this year’s Orange Cap leader, Faf Du Plessis. Here’s a closer look at the top five contenders for the most sixes in IPL 2023.
1. Faf Du Plessis – 34 sixes

The RCB opener has been having a blinder so far in the IPL 2023.
Not only is Du Plessis captaining RCB to a respectable position on the table, but he’s also sitting atop two tables of his own – the most sixes in IPL 2023, and the most runs in IPL 2023.
With a high score of 84, and an average of 57.36 compiled at a strike rate of 154.27, Du Plessis has scored an impressive 631 runs already this season.
As part of his 631 runs, he’s sent a whopping 34 balls over the boundary rope, and leads the most sixes in IPL 2023 player list by some margin.
2. Glenn Maxwell – 30 sixes

Fellow RCB batsman Glenn Maxwell comes in at second in the most sixes in IPL 2023 list, just four sixes behind his captain.
There’s a reason why Maxwell is colloquially known as ‘the Big Show’—he knows how to dispatch a bad ball, and even plenty of good ones.
It’s something that the all rounder has done on 30 occasions already this season, hence his serious strike rate of 182.85. Thanks to the solid platform that has consistently been set by Faf Du Plessis and Virat Kohli, Maxwell often comes to the crease with a full licence to swing.
And boy, has he done that, smashing 30 sixes in 12 innings.
3. Shivam Dube – 30 sixes
Shivam Dube may not be the Chennai Super Kings highest scorer, but he certainly has crushed the most balls over the ropes this season.
With 30 sixes to his name, Dube has hit the third most sixes in IPL 2023 (technically, second equal with Maxwell). Again, the middle order batsman has benefited from Devon Conway and Ruturaj Gaikwad consistently providing him with a solid platform, and has been able to swing his bat freely.
Having also built up 363 runs from his 13 innings, Dube is having one of his better IPL seasons for CSK.
4. Yashasvi Jaiswal – 26 sixes

Boy, is Yashasvi Jaiswal having a good IPL season.
The Indian youngster has been the beating heart of the Rajasthan Royals, and is largely to thank for their side still be in with a sniff of qualifying for the playoffs. Jaiswal has been striking the ball incredibly, pulverising a high score of 124 recently. Along the way, he's hit many sixes, sitting at fourth in the overall tally right now with 26 maximums.
If RR can make the playoffs cut, and Jaiswal plays a few more match winning innings, the young opener could easily surpass those above him and take home the Maximum Sixes Award.
5. Marcus Stoinis – 26 sixes
Also tied on 26 sixes so far this season, is the mercurial Aussie Marcus Stoinis.
With LSG clinging on to a top four spot by the skin of their teeth, Stoinis is a crucial cog in the Lucknow machine. The all rounder has a solid strike rate of 151.44, with a high score of 89 not out. As many sides will know, as long as Stoinis is at the crease, LSG can't be counted out.
Agani, if Stoinis features in playoffs cricket in IPL 2023, he could easily climb up these rankings and hit the most sixes in IPL 2023 by the time he's done.
