England is all set to kickstart the summer of 2021 with a two-match Test series vs New Zealand starting June 2. The first Test match will be played at Lord's cricket ground in London. The last Test series between England and New Zealand in England was held in 2015. The series ended in a draw wherein England won the first Test while the visitors came storming back to draw level the series at Headingley.

The hosts will arrive in the first Test after a gap of nearly three months of Test cricket. England's last Test outing saw them go down in an away Test series against India. On the other hand, New Zealand has also been devoid of any Test cricket action in the last few months. Their only Test appearance in 2021 came against Pakistan at home in early January.

England Squad

England cricket board had announced a 15-man squad for the Test series vs New Zealand. However, wicket-keeper batsman Ben Foakes was ruled out of the Test series after tearing his left hamstring. As a replacement, Haseeb Hameed and Sam Billings were roped in for the two Tests against the BlackCaps.

The 21-year old Rachin Ravindra is being rated very highly among the New Zealand cricket circles as a bright prospect for New Zealand in the years to follow.
