The India vs Sri Lanka result in the Asia Cup final turned out to be far more lopsided than predicted as India annihilated Sri Lanka by 10 wickets.
Led by Mohammed Siraj, India put on a ruthless display at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo to lift their eighth Asia Cup title.
The home side won the toss and opted to bat first but had the worst possible start with Kusal Perera nicking behind off Jasprit Bumrah on the third ball of the innings. What followed was one of the most sensational spells of fast bowling by Siraj.
Some of the batting from Sri Lankan batters was pretty ordinary, with only two of the players making double digits.
Siraj finished with 6 for 21 while Hardik Pandya snared three wickets as India bowled out Sri Lanka for just 50. With a small target to chase, India sent Ishan Kishan to open alongside Shubman Gill and the pair chased down the target in 6.1 overs.
