The BCCI took to their social media accounts on Tuesday, July 25, to announce the India schedule for the home season for 2023/24.
A total of 16 international games will be hosted by India over the next few months; 5 Tests, 3 ODIs, and 8 T20Is. Australia, Afghanistan and England are the three sides who would tour India in the season.

Australia is set to play three ODIs and five T20Is against India on either side of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup. The mega-event is scheduled to begin on October 5 and end on November 19.
Less than a week after the end of the ACC Men's Asia Cup and two weeks prior to the commencement of the World Cup, India would play the three-game ODI series against Australia from September 22 to September 27. Mohali, Indore and Rajkot have been chosen as the three venues to host the ODI series. All games are set to begin at 1:30 PM Indian Standard Time. The T20I series will begin on November 22; five days after the World Cup Final. A total of five T20Is will be played spanning over nine days and five different venues. The games will take place in Vizag, Trivandrum, Guwahati, Nagpur and Hyderabad.
Afghanistan will then tour India for a three-game T20I series in January next year. The series will last less than a week and the games will be played in Mohali, Indore and Bengaluru on January 11, 14 and 17 respectively. India and Afghanistan have played only four T20Is in the past, with the former having a 100% win record.
A week after the Afghanistan series, India schedule for the upcoming season will see them play a Test series against England. Five games are scheduled over a month and a half. The red-ball games will be played in Hyderabad, Vizag, Rajkot, Ranchi and Dharamshala.
By the looks of it, the venues that could not get to host games in the upcoming World Cup have been allotted games in the upcoming home season. Two games each will be played in Mohali, Indore, Rajkot and Hyderabad. Astonishingly, not even a single game will be contested in the big centres – Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata.
