South Africa and Afghanistan are scheduled to face each other in the 42nd match of the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup in India. The match is set to take place on November 10 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad and will commence at 2 PM IST.
This is South Africa’s last league game and they will be looking to gain some confidence after a thrashing at the hands of India at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Chasing 327 runs, they were skittled for just 83 runs and having qualified for the semis already, South Africa will be keen on entering the knockouts with a win in their previous game.
Overall, they are in second place in the points table with six wins from eight matches.
They have lost only to the Netherlands and India in the tournament and have managed to thump the other teams apart from Pakistan against whom they won by just one wicket in a thriller. Nevertheless, the Proteas are looking a brilliant team this time and can go all the way.
Afghanistan, meanwhile, have impressed a lot with their performance so far in this World Cup. The fact that they are alive so deep in the tournament is huge achievement for them and at one stage, also threatened to make it to the top four of the tournament.
After a winless 2019 World Cup, they have been sensational, to say the least, in this mega event.
Everything has fallen in place so perfectly for them with wins over England, Pakistan, Netherlands and Sri Lanka and would be ruing their loss to Bangladesh in their campaign opener. The team led by Hashmatullah Shahidi is finally coming through against big teams after so much promise comig through in the last few years.
Afghanistan would be keen on building this success for the future and make sure stun more teams on a regular basis at the international level.
