BCCI stands for Board of Control for Cricket India. It is the cricket governing body in India which is responsible to look after Indian cricket both internationally and at the domestic level. The cricket governing body in India, BCCI manages the entire working of Indian cricket. The board is responsible for selecting Team India squads (both Men and Women) for their international fixtures. A selection committee is put in place, elected by the BCCI, to select squads and also pick the coaching staff for all the Indian teams.

BCCI works in close association with various cricket boards to organize international fixtures for India – both home and away. BCCI also heads the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, which is a high-performance cricket center for players selected for India. The board is also responsible for procuring sponsorships, deals in order to run their finances. The body is not dependent

As per a report in IANS, BCCI net worth is estimated to be 14,489.80 crores at the end of the financial year 2018-19. BCCI earned nearly 4017 crores during the financial year 2018-19 and half of which – 2,407 crores was earned during the two-month period during the IPL. BCCI procures a major part of revenue via the Team India sponsorships and media rights for international fixtures and the IPL. From 2018 to 2022, global media rights for the IPL were awarded to Star India for a whopping ₹16,347.5 crores (US$2.3 billion).
