New Zealand vs South Africa, Match 32
ICC World Cup, 1 November 2023, 2 PM IST, Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.
New Zealand vs South Africa will lock horns against each other in the 32nd match of the ongoing World Cup in India. The clash is set to be played at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune. This is the third match of the tournament at this venue with both earlier matches won by the teams chasing a total.
Moreover, the result of the match will also give a clearer picture of the semifinalists with quite a bit of difference in points among the top four and bottom six teams.
New Zealand have been exceptional in the tournament so far with four wins in six matches. But their tougher assignments have just started and they lost to India and Australia albeit in close affairs. Another loss will certainly put some pressure on them as they will then need to win both their remaining matches. However, until they lose the next two matches, their fortunes stay in their own hands.
South Africa, meanwhile, have interestingly lost only to the Netherlands and defeated the likes of Australia and England comfortably. More importantly, they recovered from a tough loss at the hands of the Dutch and are sitting pretty at the second position at the moment with five wins in six outings. One more win will certainly seal their place in the top four and they will be keen on doing it in Pune against the Kiwis.
Also, they are coming off a stunning win by one wicket against Pakistan which tested their limits. The Proteas also managed to chase down a 250+ total in the World Cup for the first time since the 2011 edition of the tournament successfully. This will keep in good stead coming into the New Zealand clash.
The New Zealand vs South Africa prediction is a tough one to make given the form both sides are in. So, it won’t be easy for either side at the MCA Stadium in Pune which makes it for an interesting viewing for the fans.

New Zealand vs South Africa Match Preview
New Zealand
New Zealand were hoping for their skipper Kane Williamson to get fit in time for this match. But he has been ruled out which means Will Young will continue to open the innings for them. Moreover, Lockie Ferguson is also unlikely to take part in this contest while Mark Chapman’s calf injury might also keep him away from this game.
Having said that, Latham was non-committal about both players’ participation in the press conferences. The Kiwis certainly seem to be making a few changes to their playing XI in this game. Tim Southee might finally get to play his first game of the World Cup with Ferguson not being available.

South Africa
Kagiso Rabada didn’t feature in the game against Pakistan due to lower back spasms. But it was confirmed later that it was a precautionary measure. He should be good to play this encounter. However, it remains to be seen if he replaces Tabraiz Shamsi, the player of the match from the previous outing, or Gerald Coetzee who has been terrific with his pace in the World Cup.
The rest of the South African line-up looks supremely settled with all players picking themselves thanks to their performances. Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen have been a rock for the team in the middle order while Marco Jansen’s rise with every passing game has been pleasing to witness.

Pitch Report and Expected Weather Conditions for NZ vs SA
The pitch at the MCA Stadium in Pune has been really good for batting, especially under the lights. The first innings scores of 256 and 241 have not been enough at all with teams batting second chasing down targets without fretting much. The team winning the toss will surely look to chase as the pitch holds up a bit under the sun.

New Zealand vs South Africa win prediction: South Africa to win
South Africa are looking a better and more confident side at the moment compared to New Zealand. The Kiwis miss the calmness of Kane Williamson in the middle in this match and hence, we predict South Africa to win this match.
