Chief selector Ajit Agarkar believes that wrist-spinner Kuldeep Yadav can be India’s X-factor with his unique abilities, which is why they have kept faith in him.
Following his player of the tournament performance in the Asia Cup, he has been rested ahead of the Australia series.
What did Agarkar say about Kuldeep?
Kuldeep Yadav’s exceptional recent performances is a fruition of BCCI’s constant backing of him in international and domestic level. It wasn’t far back that Kuldeep was struggling for a place even in the KKR playing XI. Agarkar pointed out how a show of faith has transformed him.
“I have spent time with him in the IPL. He’s a guy with special skillset. Every guy needs to be shown faith and the Indian team management has done that and the results are there,” the former Team India pacer claimed.
Agarkar spoke about the advantage of having a bowler like Kuldeep and how opposition teams have been unable to deal with the unique threat he poses. This bodes very well for the Men in Blue going into the World Cup.
