What is the Asia Cup format?
Coming back to the Asia Cup, the format designed for this tournament is kind of unique probably to cash in the marquee IND vs PAK matches on multiple occasions (at least twice). Six teams are divided into two groups of three teams each.
Nepal, India and Pakistan comprise Group A while Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Bangladesh are clubbed in Group B.
Top two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Fours round starting from September 6. Top two sides from the Super Fours round will then make it to the final that is set to be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
