Lowest Score in Cricket History

Cricket has witnessed some outrageous games over the years and in here, we look at a list of lowest score in cricket history.

Maldives Women hold the record for the lowest score in the history of cricket. In the South Asian Games match against Bangladesh Women back on December 5, 2019, Maldives were bowled out for 6 in 12.1 overs at the Pokhara Rangasala.

After being put in to field first, Maldives made a brilliant start as they reduced their opponents to 19 for 2 in 2 overs. Sumayya Abdul ran out Shamima Sultana while Shamma Ali got the wicket of the other opening batter, Sanjida Islam.

The run-chase turned out to be equivalent to a nightmare for Maldives Women. Their batters struggled to find any clue about how to tackle the Bangladeshi bowlers. Shamma Ali was their top scorer after she scored 2 runs off 12 balls before Salma Khatun dismissed her.

Out of the 6 runs that Maldives scored, 2 runs came from extras (1 wide and 1 no ball). Nine of their batters bagged ducks. Ritu Moni was the pick of the bowlers for Bangladesh after she finished with unreal figures of 4-3-1-3.

Khatun also got three scalps and bowled at an economy rate of 0.63. Puja Chakraborty and Nahida Akter accounted for one scalp apiece. Bangladesh won the match by 249 runs and it was Nigar Sultana Joty, who won the Player of the Match award for her stupendous knock.
