It is no surprise that Universe Boss Chris Gayle is on top of this list of top 10 players with the most IPL sixes. He played only 142 matches (141) during his much-celebrated IPL career and smashed a mammoth 357 sixes. He scored 4965 runs at an average of 39.72 and a strike-rate of 148.96 is certainly one of the best. But Gayle’s six-hitting ability in IPL was certainly unmatched and fittingly, sits on the top.
- Rohit Sharma – 272 sixes
Rohit Sharma is at the second place in this list having hit a massive 272 sixes in his IPL career so far. He is 85 maximums behind Gayle to climb up the ladder but looking at his current form in IPL 2024, the former Mumbai Indians captain is certain to reduce the gap between him and the Caribbean legend in this aspect. Overall, Rohit has scored 6472 runs in 244 innings and it remains to be seen if he will be able to complete 300 sixes this season.
- AB de Villiers – 251 sixes
Another legendary figure featuring in this list is AB de Villiers who played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for the majority of his IPL career. The man smacked the ball out of the boundary a staggering 251 times in 184 matches (170 innings). De Villiers’ 360-degree style of play always kept the bowlers under pressure. As for his career, he scored 5162 runs in his IPL career at an average of 39.70 at a strike rate of 151.68.
- Virat Kohli – 248 sixes
Virat Kohli is not known much for his six hitting skills but even he has managed to hit 248 of those in his IPL career so far. The man is trying to meet the demands of modern-day games and is making sure to cross the boundary line frequently these days. Kohli has so far batted 236 times in IPL and averages 38.12 scoring 7624 runs at a strike rate of 130.74.

MS Dhoni is ageing like a fine wine. At the age of 42, he is hitting sixes at will and is only five short of completing 250 maximums in his IPL career. The man has batted 222 times in the cash-rich league so far scoring 5141 runs at an average of 39.24 and a strike rate of 136.58. It remains to be seen how many maximums MS Dhoni hits by the end of IPL 2024.

The southpaw still packs the punch and has smacked 236 sixes so far in his 182-match career in IPL. He has scored 6563 runs at an average of 41.01 and a strike rate of almost 104 thus far with four tons and 62 fifties.
- Kieron Pollard – 223 sixes
Kieron Pollard played only for Mumbai Indians during his 13-year IPL career. He bid adieu to the cash-rich league in 2022 but still features among the top 10 players with most IPL sixes. He is at the seventh place in this aspect with 223 maximums to his name and has also amassed 3412 runs in his 189-match IPL career (171 innings). Pollard was certainly a match-winner for the five-time IPL champions and is still associated with them in the capacity of a batting coach.
- Andre Russell – 203 sixes
Another Caribbean behemoth Andre Russell is part of this special list and he is certain to climb the ladder in the upcoming seasons. Russell has batted only in 99 innings in IPL and has shockingly smashed 203 sixes so far. Suresh Raina played for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the majority of his IPL career. He last played in the T20 league back in 2021 but is still part of the list of top 10 players with most IPL sixes in IPL history. He batted a staggering 200 times during his 205-match IPL career and smashed 5528 runs with a ton and 39 fifties to his name.
- Sanju Samson – 193 sixes
This might surprise many but Sanju Samson is climbing this list fast with his enterprising batting. He has been playing IPL for Rajasthan Royals for quite some time now and has eased himself into captaincy role. Samson has smacked 193 maximums so far in 154 innings and will definitely climb this list with age on his hands unlike some aforementioned players in the charts.
