The India vs Afghanistan head to head record is heavily in favour of India as the Men in Blue haven’t lost a single game.
The two teams faced each other for the first time in 2014 and have played three matches in ODIs so far in their cricketing history.
India, as expected, are dominating the head to head record with two wins while one game ended in a tie. Interestingly, Afghanistan have stretched India to its limits in their last two face-offs.
While their clash in the 2018 Asia Cup ended in a thrilling tie, Afghanistan came extremely close to beating India in the 2019 World Cup only to lose in the end by 11 runs.

India will lock horns against Afghanistan in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup on October 11 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The hosts began their campaign with a six-wicket win over Australia chasing down 200 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
It was a brilliant bowling performance led by Ravindra Jadeja who registered his best figures (3/28) in World Cup. The bowling unit did well to skittle the Aussies for just 199 runs. But then India were in trouble at 2/3 in the chase and it took a superb partnership between Virat Kohli and KL Rahul to take them home in the end.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan didn’t have the greatest of starts to their World Cup campaign. They lost to their Asian rivals Bangladesh in Dharamsala and their batting was at fault. They could just muster 156 runs before getting bundled out despite getting off to a decent start up front. Clearly, a better batting performance will be expected from them in order to challenge the Indian team.
Their spin-bowling trio of Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Rashid Khan and Mohammad Nabi has put India in trouble multiple times. If the pace bowlers do their job well, we might get to witness a brilliant match in Delhi.
