New Zealand and Sri Lanka are scheduled to face each other in the 41st match of the ICC World Cup. The match is scheduled to be played on November 9 (Thursday) at the M Chinnaswamy stadium in Bengaluru.
This is a must-win game for New Zealand having lost their last four matches. They lost to Pakistan despite scoring 401 runs with the bat. It was a shoddy effort with the ball as they conceded 201 runs in 25.3 overs and picked up only one wicket before rain arrived to lose the match eventually by DLS method.
Sri Lanka, meanwhile, lost to India by a massive 302 runs as they got skittled for just 55 runs at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai. Sri Lanka will be looking to make sure that they qualify for the Champions Trophy 2025. But to beat New Zealand, they will have to play out of their skins.
Moreover, Pakistan will have its eyes set on Sri Lanka too as a win for the latter side will take the NRR equation out for the men in green to make it to the semifinal of World Cup 2023.
