CSK vs PBKS prediction: Match win, Dream11 and toss – 30/04/2023

Match prediction: CSK to win

Toss prediction: CSK to win the toss and bowl first

Within the span of one game, CSK went from the top of the table to 4th, this is how close and neck-to-neck the teams are. PBKS also have a chance to join the 10-point train if they win the next game and will want to as the qualifications to the playoffs might be decided by fine margins this season.

CSK vs PBKS match preview

Chennai Super Kings

After 3 consecutive wins, Chennai Super kings face defeat against Rajasthan Royals in the last game. As much as they would have liked to win the previous game, it was necessary to have some good learnings from the game which will help the inexperienced bowling line up to grow. But now back at the chepauk they will want to go back to their winning ways again and with the Master from behind the stumps marshalling his troops they will be extremly confident of doing so. Devon Conway has been in fine form, but the coming back to form of Shivam Dube is something that will please the team much more. Tushar Deshpande inspite of being expensive, has also racked up crucial wickets and is in the reckoning for the purple Cap.

Probable IX:   Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane, Moeen Ali, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni(w/c), Matheesha Pathirana, Tushar Deshpande, Maheesh Theekshana, Akash Singh

Punjab Kings

In one of those freak games that cannot be explained, Punjab Kings conceded 257 runs, leaving them to chase 258 to win the game. A valiant effort at the end, but they will be concerned as every bowler was taken to the cleaners. They need to start piling up those wins before the top teams start pulling away from them, and it becomes a game to chase the front pack. They will be glad with the return of Shikhar Dhawan who will be crucial while playing against the Chennai Super Kings. They would also want Liam Livingston to fire soon as we are yet to witness his fireworks this IPL.

Probable IX: Atharva Taide, Shikhar Dhawan(c), Sikandar Raza, Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Jitesh Sharma(w), Shahrukh Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Gurnoor Brar, Arshdeep Singh

Pitch and expected weather conditions

The MA Chidambaram aka the Chepauk is a paradise when it comes to the slower bowlers. With the pitch expected to grip and turn, it will get slower to bat on as the game progresses.

It will be hot and humid. The maximum and minimum temperatures will be in the 33°C – 28°C range.

CSK vs PBKS Dream11 prediction

  • Wicket-keeper(s): Jitesh Sharma
  • Batter(s): Shikhar Dhawan, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Devon Conway, Ajinkya Rahane
  • All-rounder(s): Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, Moeen Ali
  • Bowler(s): Arshdeep Singh, Matheesha Pathirana
  • Recommended captain: Ruturaj Gaikwad
  • Recommended vice-captain: Ravindra Jadeja

The Chepauk has been a slow pitch, but has always produced some excellent high scoring games too. That should not change in this game and with power hitters on both sides, this will be a fantastic contest.

The opening batsmen will look to score runs, as it is easier for the opening batsmen to score runs with the new ball. The top order batsmen will look to capitalise when the ball is new as it will get tougher for them as the innings goes forward.

We would recommend having Ruturaj Gaikwad as your Captain, as we feel he is in magnificent form and will continue it in this game too. Ravindra Jadeja has been excellent with the ball this IPL and should be your vice captain. This game has a bit for everyone and it will be interesting to see who puts their hands up.

Match prediction: Chennai Super Kings to win

Chennai Super Kings are still a quality side and and home they are virtually unbeatable. They will want to continue that streak and we feel they will. The understanding of the conditions has to be a big part of the strategy and there is nobody better than MS Dhoni in that aspect.

Toss prediction: Chennai Super Kings to win the toss and bowl first.

Even though the pitch gets slower to the end, winning the toss as bowling first is the trend best suited for this ground. This being an afternoon game might change the perception of the teams, as there will be no dew to work with in the second innings.

Man of the match prediction: Ruturaj Gaikwad

Ruturaj Gaikwad started the tournament with a blitz but has not been firing on all cylinders since then. He will want to make a comeback and showed some good form in the last game. He will want to do well and get back in form for the super kings.

Betting odds

Chennai Super Kings are placed at 1.60 and the Punjab Kings are at 2.10. Chennai Super Kings come in as favourites as they play at home and also because of the great form they are in.
