Delhi Capitals' all-round performance against Rajasthan Royals helped them clinch the yesterday's IPL match by a margin of 13 runs. In a match that went down to the wire, Delhi bowlers kept their nerve to sneak out a close win. Earlier in the evening, Delhi skipper Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to bat first on a typical slow wicket in Dubai. Here's a complete match analysis of how Delhi managed to pull the yesterday's IPL match result in their favor against RR.
Delhi Capitals post 161; Dhawan-Iyer score fifties
It wasn't the greatest of starts for Delhi after they opted to bat first. Opener Prithvi Shaw was dismissed for a golden duck on the first ball of the match. Despite some good bowling from Jofra Archer in the powerplay, the duo of Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer managed to keep the flow of runs going. Dhawan, after being put under the scanner for his slow strike rate vs MI, was the real aggressor among the two Delhi batsman. An 85-run stand for the third wicket between Dhawan and Iyer proved to be vital in Delhi posting a total of 161 runs in their 20 overs. Dhawan top-scored with a 33-ball 57 while Iyer contributed with a 53-run knock.

Rajasthan falter despite a healthy start; lose by 13 runs
Chasing 162 runs to claim their second win on the trot, RR openers began well in the powerplay. The opening duo of Ben Stokes and Jos Buttler took the attack to the Delhi bowlers in the first three overs. However, the experience in the Delhi ranks proved too good for the ‘Men in Pink' after Anrich Nortje saw the back of Buttler in the third over.
Rajasthan did manage to stitch in a few small partnerships in the middle-overs but as well kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Most of their batters got the desired start but couldn't carry on to help their team win the yesterday's IPL match vs DC. In the end, an excellent bowling defense from Delhi earned them two crucial points, taking them to the cliff of the IPL 2020 Points Table.
