The 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will begin on March 22 and here's the full list of injured players in IPL 2024. Like every year, there have been last minute injuries and pull outs especially from overseas players among most of the teams. As for injury concerns, a few players have been entirely ruled out while some of them are still hopeful of regaining fitness just in time.

Injured players in IPL 2024
Gujarat Titans
Mohammed Shami, the purple cap winner of IPL 2023, is set to miss this year’s IPL for Gujarat Titans. He played the ODI World Cup with an ankle injury and has been on the sidelines since November 19, 2023. He recently underwent surgery in London and is only expected to return to action after the T20 World Cup. GT are yet to name a replacement for him and is one of the many injured players in IPL 2024.
Another player who is unavailable for a couple of matches of IPL 2024 is Matthew Wade who has decided to play the Sheffield Shield final for Tasmania from March 21 to 25. But he will be joining the team soon after that.
Lucknow Super Giants
Mark Wood is one of the few England players to pull out of entire IPL 2024. England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) wants to manage to manage his workload especially after he played three Tests in India recently. Moreover, the board wants the pace bowler to be fit for the T20 World Cup and the subsequent home summer. Shamar Joseph has been named his replacement and has also joined the team.

Rajasthan Royals
Prasidh Krishna injury woes continue and has been ruled out of the second successive IPL season. He had missed IPL 2023 due to stress fracture and last month underwent surgery for his quadriceps injury which he sustained during the Ranji Trophy this year. The Royals are yet to name a replacement for him.
Kolkata Knight Riders
Jason Roy is one more English cricketer to pull out due to personal reasons. He was retained by the franchise after his impressive show last year and looked set to open the innings this season. KKR have signed Phil Salt as his replacement already.
England fast bowler Gus Atkinson has also pulled out of IPL 2024 by ECB to manage his workload. Interestingly, his replacement Sri Lanka pacer Dushmantha Chameera is also injured even as he missed the Bangladesh tour too.
Mujeeb ur Rahman injured his hand before the ODIs against Sri Lanka and there is no update on his fitness yet. He makes it to the list of injured players in IPL 2024.
Chennai Super Kings
Devon Conway sustained a finger injury during the T20I series against Australia and subsequently underwent surgery for the same. He is expected to be away from the action at least for eight weeks. CSK are yet to name a replacement for him.
Pacer Matheesha Pathirana of Sri Lanka is also injured and is likely to be away from action for four to five weeks. He sustained the injury during the T20I series against Bangladesh putting his participation in IPL 2024 in doubt for now.
Mustafizur Rahman is the latest casualty from the BAN vs SL series as he suffered massive cramps during the third ODI against Sri Lanka. In fact, he had to be taken away by stretcher off the field and CSK will be hoping that nothing is serious.
Delhi Capitals
Harry Brook withdrew from IPL 2024 recently for personal reasons but the cricketer revealed soon that his grandmother passed away in February and he wants to be with his family during tough times. DC are yet to name a replacement for him officially.
Lungi Ngidi, South Africa fast bowler, ruled out recently due to lower back injury he suffered during the SA20. DC have signed young Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk as his replacement for IPL 2024.
Sunrises Hyderabad
All-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga has taken back his Test retirement for Sri Lanka and will play the Tests against Bangladesh starting in March 22. The series runs till April 3 and Hasaranga will miss at least the first three games for the side.
Mumbai Indians
Dilshan Madhushanka, Sri Lanka’s left-arm fast bowler, is certain to miss the first few matches of IPL 2024. He suffered a hamstring tear in his left leg and his comeback date is not known yet.
Gerald Coetzee is not a certain starter either for the five-time champions as he continues to recover from a groin injury he sustained during the Boxing Day Test against India in December 2023. He hasn’t played any competitive games since then but has joined the MI camp.
Jason Behrendorff is also ruled out and will be replaced by Luke Wood for IPL 2024.
Suryakumar Yadav, who underwent a sports hernia surgery in January, has not got a clearance from the NCA. He is likely to miss at least the first few games of the season.
