IPL 2024 Schedule: Remaining schedule for second leg of IPL 2024 revealed

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unveiled the comprehensive schedule for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season. Following the initial announcement of the first 21 matches, the complete list of games has now been released, resuming the cricket action amidst the anticipation of the national general elections.

The update came on Monday March 25 with the fourth day of IPL 2024 action in full swing.

Key Highlights of the IPL 2024 Schedule

The IPL 2024 had promised thrilling encounters right from the start, featuring a total of 21 matches in the initial phase. The remaining schedule was released with the final set to be played at Chepauk in Chennai, the first time that the venue will host an IPL final in 12 years.

The opening day saw a clash of titans as MS Dhoni leads CSK against Faf du Plessis's RCB, setting the tone for a high-octane series as CSK triumphed. The following days were packed with back-to-back cricketing action, including double-headers on March 23 and 24.

The IPL 2024 is set to kick off its next phase with the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), last year's champions, facing off against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Chennai on April 8. This match marks the continuation of the cricket extravaganza, following a suspense-filled start to the season.

The playoffs have also been scheduled, with the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai slated to host the second Qualifier and the highly anticipated Final on May 24 and May 26, respectively. Meanwhile, the first Qualifier and the Eliminator matches are set to light up the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 21 and May 22.

The tournament's structure this year is influenced by the concurrent scheduling with the Women's Premier League (WPL) and the forthcoming national elections. 

Delhi had see any IPL matches until April 7, but is back in action during April and May in the new schedule.

Adding to the excitement, the IPL will expand its horizons by introducing matches in two new cities. The Punjab Kings are scheduled to play two of their home games at the scenic Dharamsala stadium, while the Rajasthan Royals will head to Guwahati for their two home encounters, promising a fresh experience for the teams and fans alike.

As the IPL 2024 gears up for more thrilling cricket action, fans are eagerly waiting to see if the Chennai Super Kings can continue their victorious streak or if a new champion will emerge.

The IPL 2024 schedule is structured to cater to a wide audience, with matches starting at 8 PM IST on the opening day and 7:30 PM IST on regular evenings. The weekends will feature double-headers, with early games beginning at 3:30 PM IST, allowing fans to enjoy a full day of cricket.
