PBKS vs MI: Who Won Yesterday’s IPL Match? | Yesterday IPL Match Result

PBKS vs MI– Match Review | Yesterday IPL Match Result

In Yesterday's IPL match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians, the Kings from the North got the better of the five-time champions to register a win by 9 wickets. It was another slow surface at Chennai's Chepauk Stadium that made life tough for the batters. Batting first, Mumbai could only post 132 runs in their 20 overs as Punjab bowlers used the variations to good effect in restricting a strong MI line-up to such a low total. While runs were hard to come by, KL Rahul led from the front and played a skipper's knock to guide his team home. Rahul stayed unbeaten on 60 and was assisted well by Chris Gayle as the two turned the result of yesterday's PBKS vs MI match in Punjab's favor.

On being asked to bat first, Mumbai openers found it hard to get off the blocks. The PBKS started with the medium pace of Moises Henriques and the off-spin of Deepak Hooda to kickstart their bowling. It was a fantastic move that paid off rich dividends as Mumbai could only post 21 runs in the first six overs. While Rohit Sharma held fort at one end, none of the other batters could up the run-scoring rate. In the middle-overs, Suryakumar Yadav did play a few fancy shots but his brief innings didn't help the team a great deal. With power-hitters including the likes of Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard failing to fire, MI could only post 132 runs in their 20 overs.

Chasing 133 runs for victory on a tricky surface, it was necessary for PBKS to start well in yesterday's IPL match against MI. The opening duo of Mayank Agarwal and KL Rahul gave a rollicking start to their chase as the ‘Men in Red' were 40/0 after the first five overs. Despite the fall of Agarwal in the next over, Rahul continued going strong as he was joined by Chris Gayle at No.3. The Mumbai bowlers bowled economically but the partnership of Gayle and Rahul ensured that Punjab claimed their second win of the tournament without any further hiccup. In the end, the Kings won yesterday's PBKS vs MI IPL match by 9 wickets to claim the fifth spot in the Points Table.
