LSG vs RCB head to head IPL record: Stats, total matches and history

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have played two seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after coming into existence back in 2022. In both seasons, they made their way through to the playoffs, but failed to go all the way. KL Rahul captained them for the entire season in 2022.

However, he was ruled out of the IPL 2023 midway through the tournament after he sustained an injury. In his absence, it was Krunal Pandya, who took charge of the Super Giants. LSG will be looking for a better showing this time and maybe, win their maiden IPL title.

RCB, on the other hand, are waiting for their maiden IPL trophy. Despite playing in three finals, a trophy has eluded them. Faf du Plessis has a big task in hand leading the Challengers in the upcoming IPL season.

The Super Giants and RCB have faced each other four times with both teams winning two matches apiece. In their previous meeting at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore, LSG beat RCB by one wicket.

Nicholas Pooran won the Player of the Match award after he scored 62 runs off 19 balls with four fours and seven sixes.

Best match in the Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore head to head

One of the best matches that took place between these teams was their first ever encounter in the 2023 IPL season.

Here RCB batted first and captain Faf du Plessis was too hot to handle for the KL Rahul-led LSG in their maiden encounter. The former Proteas cricketer hit 96 off 64 balls to help his team reach 181-6 in 20 overs.

In pursuit of 182, Australian seamer Josh Hazlewood was too hot for the LSG hitters. Among the LSG batters only KL Rahul and Krunal Pandya got decent scores while others did not contribute much. The LSG batsmen never found any rhythm throughout their innings as the RCB bowlers were all over them.

Hazlewood claimed four wickets, including Rahul's prized scalp, for 25 runs in his four overs, ensuring LSG fell 18 runs short of the objective. Harshal Patel too picked up 2 wickets which proved to be quite crucial in the context of the match.

Will Royal Challengers Bangalore take revenge for what happened in the first leg encounter between these teams this season or will Lucknow Super Giants equalize the overall record.
