RR vs KKR: Who Won Yesterday’s IPL Match? | Yesterday IPL Match Result

RR vs KKR – Match Review | Yesterday IPL Match Result

On a ground where the pitch is generally a batter's friend, it wasn't the case in yesterday's RR vs KKR IPL match at Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium. Batting first, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) struggled throughout the 20 overs to post a decent total on the board. The Rajasthan Royals bowling attack was right on cue with their execution to contain the powerful KKR line-up to an under par total of 133 runs. Chris Morris did the bulk of the damage with his four-wicket haul to prevent KKR from going big in the death overs. In the end, it was an easy chase for the Royals who, led by Sanju Samson, claimed their second win of the season to beat KKR by six wickets.

Batting first on a flat deck in Mumbai, KKR was expected to post a huge total, especially with their powerful batting line-up. However, it was a surprising effort from the KKR batters who failed to get going throughout their batting innings. It was a case of superb execution of skills, especially slower balls from the Royals' attack which made life tough for the opposition.

With runs hard to come by, the bowlers managed to invoke a few false shots plotting their demise in yesterday's IPL match vs RR. Chris Morris was the chief tormentor with the ball as he recorded his best IPL bowling figures of 4/23 on what is usually a bowler's graveyard at the Wankhede Stadium. Eventually, KKR could only post 133 runs in their 20 overs.

Chasing a below-par total of 134 runs in batting-friendly conditions, Rajasthan didn't start in the most suitable fashion, losing the under-firing Jos Buttler early. However, skipper Sanju Samson played a sensible inning, guiding his team over the finishing line with utmost ease. Samson, walking in at No.3, took his own time and ensured that his team didn't falter in a relatively small run-chase. Samson's stayed unbeaten on 42 (42) and was ably aided by the likes of Shivam Dube, David Miller as Rajasthan claimed victory by 6 wickets in yesterday's RR vs KKR IPL match.
