Sunrisers Hyderabad SRH are one-time former champions in the Indian Premier League, having won the title in IPL 2016 and here is the SRH best playing XI for the 2024 IPL.
David Warner-led Sunrisers defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in the final to clinch the trophy in 2016 but a lot has happened since then with the Hyderabad franchise. They have had a public fallout with Warner, to the extent the franchise has blocked their title-winning captain from social media. Nothing has gone wrong for the Sunrisers in the last couple of years.
The IPL 2023 was the lowest point for SRH in their nine years in the tournament as they finished last in the 10th position. They managed to win only four times and lost 10 matches.
Sunrisers have made quite a few changes for the next season. Let's take a look at the Sunrisers Hyderabad full squad and the best-playing XI of SRH for IPL 2024.

SRH best Playing XI for IPL 2024
Of all the teams in the tournament, constructing the best playing XI for SRH was undoubtedly the hardest task. Hyderabad released the likes of Harry Brook, Adil Rashid and Akeal Hosein. Having one of the highest purses in the IPL auction, they bought Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Wanindu Hasaranga and Jaydev Unadkat.
Sunrisers have several options that they can play in the starting XI. There is no real distinction between the potential starters and the backups, which makes their playing XI pretty unpredictable and here is SRH best Playing XI.
1. Travis Head
Travis Head is in the form of his life and it was obvious he would be sought after in the auction. SRH spent INR 6.80 crore to secure him for the next season. Head smashed a fifty and hundred in the two knockout games in the ODI World Cup. His T20 form has also been pretty good. SRH have so many top order options that they can leave him out, but having him in makes them a better side.
2. Mayank Agarwal
Most of the SRH batting unit struggled last year and Mayank Agarwal was one of those who just couldn't find form. They have at least four options for this slot but opening is Agarwal's best position and he would compliment Head well. Mayank has been outstanding while opening in the past and will be a must in SRH best Playing XI.
3. Rahul Tripathi
Rahul Tripathi would also be more suited at opening but he can be more flexible. He too had a mediocre season with the bat last year and would be hoping to turn things around. In 2022, Tripathi made 413 runs at an average of 37 and strike rate of 158.
4. Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram was the biggest disappointment for SRH in the previous season. He scored 248 runs at 22 average and 126 strike rate. Markram was excellent in 2022, smashing 381 runs at 47 average and 139 strike rate. Markram is the captain of the side but could be dropped if he doesn't deliver.
5. Heinrich Klaasen (wk)
Heinrich Klaasen was the only ray of hope for Sunrisers Hyderabad throughout the IPL 2023. He blasted 448 runs in the season at a strike rate of 177 while averaging nearly 50. Klaasen has been in terrific form and given his ability to smash spinners, he's the most secured overseas player in the line-up.
6. Abhishek Sharma
Abhishek Sharma had a superb IPL 2022, where he made 422 runs at an average of 30 and strike rate of 133. But he only averaged only 20 in the previous season as SRH fiddled with the batting order. With Travis Head in the side, Abhishek is unlikely to open and could be used as a floater.
7. Washington Sundar
The off-spinning all-rounder has the potential to be a valuable asset in the shorter format but hasn't delivered yet. He played only seven games last season due to an injury and couldn't do much with bat or ball. Sundar does make it to the best SRH line-up but needs to start giving good returns.
8. Pat Cummins
Sunrisers splashed a whopping 20.50 crore to acquire the services of Pat Cummins for the IPL 2024. The Australian captain is not amongst the best T20 bowlers but offers good balance thanks to his batting ability. With Cummins having a certain spot in SRH best Playing XI, Marco Jansen and Fazalhaq Farooqi will remain on the sidelines.
9. Bhuvneshwar Kumar
Bhuvneshwar Kumar might be past his prime but he remains a key part of Sunrisers Hyderabad. He took 16 wickets in 14 games at an average of 8.33. He had a fantastic season in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy for Uttar Pradesh, snaring 16 wickets in seven games at an economy of 5.84. Despite his inconsistent returns of late, he will be in SRH best Playing XI.
10. Mayank Markande
Sunrisers Hyderabad acquired Wanindu Hasaranga at base price but chances of him playing look slim given other overseas players they have. Mayank Markande could be preferred as the primary spin option. The leg-spinner picked 12 wickets in nine games in the SMAT, at an economy of 7.74.
11. T. Natarajan
T Natarajan had a rapid rise to stardom but soon faded off due to injuries and form. He played 12 matches for SRH in the previous edition, picking just 10 wickets at an economy of 9.11. His recent form hasn't been great either but is likely to be trusted.
Abdul Samad (Impact Player)
Sunrisers have several Indian options that they can use as the Impact Player, depending on the situation. Anmolpreet Singh, Shahbaz Ahmed, Jaydev Unadkat and Abdul Samad all offer something different. Abdul Samad could be used the most as he can bat down the order. He made 169 runs in eight innings for SRH last year, averaging 42 at a strike rate of 132.
