The India National Cricket Team has touched down in Thiruvananthapuram for their second warm-up encounter in preparation for the Cricket World Cup 2023. However, there was a notable absence as they disembarked – the masterful batsman and the former captain, Virat Kohli.
With the first warm-up game against England washed out by rain, fans are eagerly anticipating the second clash against the Netherlands. On a sunny Sunday in Thiruvananthapuram, fans thronged the airport to glimpse their cricketing heroes. The coaching staff, led by Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma, along with their teammates, were greeted warmly as they stepped off the plane and into the team bus.
But conspicuously absent was Virat Kohli, giving rise to a flurry of speculations about his availability for the upcoming fixture.
According to reports in Sportstar, Kohli did not travel with the team to Thiruvananthapuram. However, it's not all doom and gloom for the Kohli fans. He will make a late arrival and is expected to be in the mix for the warm-up game.
Indian fans hope rain won't disrupt the Netherlands match, with forecasts of rain in the city for the next couple of days. If skies stay clear, India plans a training session on Monday.
