Liton Das has dropped out of the Bangladesh Asia Cup 2023 squad, with Anamul Haque coming in as his replacement.
Bangladesh opener Liton Das will miss the upcoming Asia Cup 2023 in Sri Lanka and Pakistan due to a viral fever, as confirmed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) in a press release on Wednesday.
The BCB has named Anamul Haque as his replacement.
Liton had been feeling under the weather before the team's arrival in Sri Lanka on Sunday and was unable to travel with the squad. Initially, there was hope that he would recover in time to participate in the later stages of the tournament.

It has now been confirmed, however, that he will be sidelined for the entire event.

In his absence, Anamul Haque Bijoy has been called up as his replacement. The decision to bring in Anamul was motivated by the need for a wicketkeeper-batsman in the squad, according to BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin.
Anamul has been in good form in domestic cricket despite not playing for Bangladesh in ODIs since last year.
Anamul has a respectable ODI record, having played 44 matches and scored 1254 runs, including three centuries with an average of 30.58.
