Despite chasing a low total, Pakistan capitulated under pressure and failed to hold their nerves in a clash against their arch-rivals. The eventual World Cup winners folded out for merely 173 to hand India a victory by 43 runs.

For his quick-fire 62-ball 54, Tendulkar was awarded the Man of the match. India didn't fare well in the 1992 Cricket World Cup whereas Pakistan were crowned the World Cup champions.
