1. Hardik Pandya scores fastest 1000 ODI runs for India
In the first ODI, Hardik Pandya became the fastest Indian batsman to score 1000 ODI runs in terms of the number of balls taken to achieve this feat. He crossed the 1000-run mark in ODIs in just 857 balls, surpassing Kedar Jadhav (937 balls) who held the Indian record previously. Overall, Andre Russell is leading this chart having achieved his tally of 1000 ODI runs in a mere 787 deliveries.
The only others above Hardik Pandya are former New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Luke Ronchi (807 balls), Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi (834 balls), and Kiwi all-rounder Corey Anderson (854 balls).
2. Virat Kohli quickest to scale 12k ODI runs
Virat Kohli had a mixed bag ODI series as he lost a second consecutive ODI series as captain while regained his ODI form with a couple of fifties. In doing so, Kohli unlocked a special feat in One-Day Internationals. In the third ODI in Canberra, Kohli went past the 12k runs in ODIs. He became only the sixth batter to achieve this feat.
In fact, Virat Kohli is the fastest batsman to score as many runs. It took him a total of 242 innings, going past Tendulkar's record of eclipsing the feat in 300 ODI innings.
In the 2nd ODI, during the course of his 89-run knock, he became the 8th batsman to score 22000 international runs. Virat took just 462 innings to claim this milestone, which is again the fastest for any batsmen in world cricket. Kohli now leaves behind greats like Sachin Tendulkar who took 493 innings, while Ricky Ponting and Brian Lara took 514 and 511 innings respectively.

3. Steve Smith hits 3rd fastest ODI century for Australia
Steve Smith made a sublime start to his Australian summer with consecutive centuries in the first two ODIs against India. What was more interesting is that he took the exact same number of balls (62) to score his ton on both occasions. This also happens to be the third-fastest century for Australia in ODIs. Glenn Maxwell holds the record for the fastest ODI century for Australia in 51 balls to score a ton against Sri Lanka in 2015 at the same venue.
4. Yuzvendra Chahal concedes most runs by an Indian spinner in an ODI
Yuzvendra Chahal had a poor day at the office in the first ODI against Australia in Sydney. The Indian spinner was taken to the cleaners and conceded 89 runs in his spell of 10 overs. Chahal went wicketless and even went on to claim the record for the worst bowling figures for an Indian spinner in an ODI match. Chahal eclipsed his own record for conceding most runs by an Indian spinner. Earlier, the leg-spinner had conceded 88 runs in 10 overs against England in the CWC 2019 at Birmingham.
5. Highest aggregate for runs in an ODI match in Australia
This Australia vs India ODI series 2020 was undoubtedly one of the high-scoring series in recent times. On five out of the six batting innings, the total went past the 300-run mark. The hosts scored their highest ODI total against India in 2nd ODI, scoring 389 runs in their 50 overs. It was a run-scoring fest and indeed created the record for the highest run aggregate in an ODI in Australia.
In the 2nd ODI, Australia posted a massive total of 389 runs while batting first as India managed to score 339 taking the match aggregate to 727. The previous highest run aggregate in an ODI match in Australia was 688 runs between Australia and Sri Lanka in Sydney in 2015.
