Mike Denness and Tony Greig scored 66 and 48 respectively to take their team past the finish line in a thrilling contest. England and Pakistan played in the only T20I at the venue back in July 2021. Headingley Cricket Ground Records last match in Test, ODI and T20I
As per the Headingley Cricket Ground Records, England and New Zealand faced each other in the last Test at the venue back in June 2022. After electing to bat first, the visitors scored 329 in 117.3 overs on the back of Daryl Mitchell’s 109-run knock. Jack Leach was the star performer after he picked up five wickets in the first innings.
Thereafter, Jonny Bairstow’s knock of 162 helped England gain a lead of 31 runs at the end of both team’s first innings. Tom Blundell scored an unbeaten 88 and helped the Black Caps set the hosts a target of 296 to chase down. England lost the early wickets of Zak Crawley and Alex Lees. But Joe Root, Ollie Pope and Bairstow scored fifties to guide their team through to victory.
England chased down the target in 54.2 overs and won the three-match series 3-0. Leach became the Player of the Match for picking up 10 wickets, which included two five-wicket hauls.
Going by the Headingley Cricket Ground Records, back in July 24, 2022, England and South Africa played the last ODI at the venue. The match did not produce a result after rain played spoilsport. After opting to bat first, the Proteas scored 159 for the loss of two wickets in 27.4 overs when the heavens opened up.

Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone also wielded the willow to good effect to score 36 and 38 runs respectively. Mohammad Hasnain picked up three wickets, but leaked 51 runs in his quota of four overs. Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan gave Pakistan an excellent start by putting on 50 runs for the opening wicket off 5.4 overs.
But after they got out, the Pakistani batting crumbled. Shadab Khan and Imad Wasim threw their bats around to score 36 not out and 20 respectively, but their efforts were never going to be enough for Pakistan, who lost by 45 runs.

Back in 1993, skipper Allan Border scored 200 runs as Australia scored 653 for four (declared) in their first innings. Steve Waugh also scored 157 and was involved in a massive partnership of 333 runs with Border.
