Rajasthan Royals, who made it to the final in IPL 2022, failed to reach the playoffs last year. They ended up fifth on the table with seven wins and as many losses. They had their fate in their own hands but lost the final group match. Sanju Samson will continue to lead the side as they eye their second IPL title. 

RR made some smart picks ahead of the season. They swapped Devdutt Padikkal for Avesh Khan in the trade window. Later in the auction, they brought in Rovman Powell, Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Nandre Burger and Shubham Dubey. RR have arguably the most predictable playing XI in the league.

Lucknow Super Giants have managed to reach the top four in both the seasons so far but were knocked out in the eliminator on both occasions. Last season, they won eight games in the group stage before losing to Mumbai Indians. KL Rahul will continue leading the LSG side with an aim to get two steps further this time. 

LSG traded Devdutt Padikkal and it is reported that Rahul is likely to bat in the middle order. In the 2024 auction, they signed David Willey, Shivam Mavi, Ashton Turner and a few more domestic players. Predicting four overseas players of the LSG playing XI is a tricky task as almost all players are strong contenders.

Pitch and expected weather conditions of RR vs LSG

Sawai Mansingh Stadium has been a balanced venue historically but the last IPL season saw bowlers dominating. The average first innings score here in the previous IPL season was just 142. There is a good chance the pitches will remain bowling-friendly this time as well. 

The weather in Jaipur is likely to be hot and humid on Sunday afternoon. The temperature should range between 30-35 degree Celsius and the players will have to deal with the heat.

Here in this RR vs LSG match prediction, we will discuss why we picked this XI for the Dream11 contest. Yashasvi Jaiswal is in the form of his life so he would be the first name of the list. 

These two teams have multiple quality wicket-keepers and so we have gone with five of those. Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and Quinton de Kock bat in the top three and are must picks. Nicholas Pooran and KL Rahul will bat in the middle order but their skill set warrants a place. 

Amongst all-rounders, Marcus Stoinis will bat in the middle order and could bowl a couple of overs. Ravichandran Ashwin will have four left-hand batters to bowl at in this game and he could be a key player. Trent Boult and Naveen ul Haq will bowl with the new ball and in death overs. Ravi Bishnoi is a lethal leg-spinner and is a must pick as well.

The two teams have faced each other only thrice with Rajasthan Royals winning two of those. The sample size is too short to conclude anything. As for this season, RR seem to have a more balanced batting line-up with the addition of Rovman Powell to the side. LSG have four left-hand batters in the top seven and it could be an issue with RR having Ravichandran Ashwin. Our match prediction is for Rajasthan Royals to win.

Sawai Mansingh Stadium has hosted 19 matches in the IPL since 2018, with the team batting second winning 11 of those. Looking at this record, the teams could be tempted to chase in this game. Our toss prediction is that Lucknow Super Giants will win the toss and opt to field first. 

Man of the match prediction: Yashasvi Jaiswal 

The young Indian batter has been in terrific form with the bat. Yashasvi Jaiswal recently amassed 712 runs in the Test series against England. His T20 form has also been good, smashing four fifties and a hundred for India in the past year. He had a magnificent IPL 2023, where he scored 625 runs at an average of 48 and strike rate of 164.
