The players part of the fastest IPL hundreds list will certainly go down in the rich folklore of T20 cricket. The Indian Premier League (IPL) has certainly changed the T20 landscape ever since its inception and the 17th edition is proving to be groundbreaking. Records are being created and smashed for fun and the modern day cricket has gone to another level.
Team score of 250 has been breached more than thrice only in IPL 2024 and clearly this wasn’t possible without players scoring fastest IPL hundreds. Hence, here we bring you the list of top 10 fastest centuries in the cash-rich league:

- Chris Gayle – 30 balls
Chris Gayle owns this record to score fastest IPL hundred as he did it only off 30 balls while playing for Royal Challengers Bengaluru against Pune Warriors back in IPL 2013. He smashed a total of 175 runs off 66 deliveries with 13 fours and a massive 17 sixes. On the back of his knock, RCB managed to post a mammoth total of 263 runs in their 20 overs. It was the highest total in IPL history until the record was broken in IPL 2024 by Sunrisers Hyderabad.
- Yusuf Pathan – 37 balls
Yusuf Pathan’s 37-ball majestic ton is 2010 while playing for Rajasthan Royals against Mumbai Indians is the second fastest IPL hundreds. The knock came in a mammoth chase of 213 runs as he smashed 100 runs with nine fours and eight sixes to his name. Unfortunately, the heroic knock ended in a losing cause with the Royals falling short by just four runs.
- David Miller – 38 balls
David Miller of South Africa created history against RCB while playing for Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) back in IPL 2013. He stunned the opposition smashing an unbeaten 101 off just 38 balls hitting eight fours and seven sixes. Thanks to Miller’s fun outing, Punjab chased down the target of 191 runs in just 18 overs with six wickets in hand.
- Travis Head – 39 balls
The first ground-breaking performance of IPL 2024 came off the bat of Travis Head when he smashed a 39-ball century against RCB. M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru witnessed the mayhem as the Australian southpaw, playing for SRH, smashed 102 runs off 41 balls with nine fours and eight sixes. SRH, thanks to his assault, also posted 287 runs – the highest ever total in IPL history.
- Adam Gilchrist – 42 balls
It was the first edition of the IPL and to score a ton off just 42 balls was just unthinkable in that era. Turning up for Deccan Chargers, Adam Gilchrist just toyed with the Mumbai Indians’ bowlers helping his side chase down 155 runs in just 12 overs with all 10 wickets in hand. Gilchrist remained unbeaten on 109 off 47 balls with nine fours and 10 massive maximums.
- AB de Villiers – 43 balls
Any record list in IPL is incomplete without AB de Villiers and he also features in the list of fastest IPL hundreds. Featuring for RCB, Mr 360 stunned Gujarat Lions in IPL 2016 smashing a century off 43 balls and eventually scoring an unbeaten 129 off 52 balls hitting 10 fours and 12 maximums during his stay in the middle. RCB also managed to post a mammoth total of 248 runs on the board in their 20 overs.
- David Warner – 43 balls
David Warner is the Mr Consistent of IPL and while leading SRH, he played a lot of memorable knocks. But his century off 43 balls against KKR got etched in memories forever. Opening the innings, the Aussie southpaw struck 10 fours and eight sixes on his way to 126 off 59 balls helping his side post 209 runs in 20 overs in match 44 of IPL 2017.
- Sanath Jayasuriya – 45 balls
IPL was only around a month old when Sanath Jayasuriya almost broke Gilchrist’s record of fastest IPL hundred. Playing for Mumbai Indians, the marauding left-handed batter took on CSK’s bowlers as he plundred an unbeaten 114 off 48 balls. In the process, he registered a ton off 45 deliveries much to the delight of MI fans. His knock also led MI to chase down the 157-run target in just 13.5 overs with nine wickets in hand.
- Mayank Agarwal – 45 balls
IPL 2020 was different as the tournament was played in the September-October window due to COVID-19 breakout. The entire season was moved to UAE and was played behind the closed doors. But that didn’t stop Mayank Agarwal from smashing one of the fastest IPL hundreds. Opening the innings for Punjab Kings, he scored a 45-ball century eventually ending on 106 off 50 deliveries with 10 fours and seven sixes. His blistering knock also made sure that Punjab posted 223 runs on the board in their 20 overs. But Mayank’s heroics went in vain as Rajasthan Royals chased down the total in the last-over thriller.
- Jonny Bairstow – 45 balls
The latest addition to the list is Jonny Bairstow of Punjab Kings who helped his side create history with his 45-ball century. Thanks to his knock and other key contributions, Punjab Kings gunned down a massively outrageous target of 262 runs with utter ease to register the highest successful ever chase in IPL history. Bairstow was key throughout the chase as he remained unbeaten on 108 off 48 balls with eight fours and nine sixes. In fact, Punjab ended up chasing the massive total comfortably with eight balls and as many wickets in hand.
