DC vs MI: Who Won Yesterday’s IPL Match? | Yesterday IPL Match Result

DC vs MI– Match Review | Yesterday IPL Match Result

On a typically slow track in Chennai, Mumbai Indians won the toss and yet again elected to bat first in yesterday's IPL match against Delhi Capitals (DC). It was a decent start for Mumbai as skipper Rohit Sharma was looking all set to cause tremors in the opposition camp. However, it was not long before Amit Mishra weaved his magic with his leg spin to account for four crucial MI wickets through the middle-overs.  Eventually, MI could only manage 137 runs in their 20 overs. Despite a few hiccups, Delhi secured a 6-wickets win and finally broke the five-match losing streak against Mumbai Indians in yesterday's DC vs MI IPL match.

It was a case of batting first and scoring enough runs to rule out the opposition batting second out of the game. However, the formula didn't work this time around for Mumbai as Delhi spinners spun a web around their middle-order, leaving them in all sorts of trouble in the first innings. Mumbai's middle-order, a familiar concern this season, was yet again brought to the fore courtesy of Amit Mishra. Mishra, who drafted into the side, picked four wickets for only 24 runs, ensuring that the reigning champions don't post a huge total on the board. Eventually, MI stumbled their way to a total of 137 runs in their allotted 20 overs.

Chasing 138 runs for victory, Delhi Capitals (DC) lost the early wicket of Prithi Shaw. Steve Smith, who walked in at No.3, played according to the situation and stitched a crucial 50-run stand alongside Shikhar Dhawan. While Smith was dismissed for a well-made 33 off 29 deliveries, Dhawan continued his rich vein of form to leave his team in the driver's seat before departing for 45. In the end, it was the rare lack of execution from the MI bowlers as Lalit Yadav and Shimron Hetmyer propelled Delhi to a six-wicket win over Mumbai Indians in the DC vs MI Yesterday IPL Match result. With this wi, Delhi Capitals climb to the second spot in the IPL 2021 Points Table with three wins out of four matches.
