Shah Rukh Khan, Juhi Chawla, Jay Mehta, and Red Chilies Entertainment are the owner of KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) for the IPL 2024. The men in purple and gold are the third most successful team in the history of the Indian Premier League, having won the title twice.
The Knight Riders’ early years were marred by mismanagement and controversies, which had visible effects on the field as they struggled to go through beyond the league stages. Gautam Gambhir joined the team in 2011, and their fortunes took a turn.
In IPL 2011, Gambhir led KKR to the playoffs for the first time. The very next year, they went all the way to clinch the IPL trophy for the first time. In the final, they defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK), who had won back to back titles in 2010 and 2011.
In IPL 2014, the Knight Riders won their second IPL title after beating the Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final. After being with the team for seven seasons, Gambhir was acquired by the Delhi Capitals in 2018.

Shreyas Iyer is set to lead the Knight Riders in the IPL 2024, after Rana did the job in the 2023 edition due to Iyer getting ruled out with an injury. KKR created history in the recent IPL auction, where they splashed INR 24.75 crore to acquire Mitchell Starc.
