GMR Group and JSW Group are the Delhi Capitals owner for the IPL 2024. Delhi Capitals (DC) are yet to win any title in the Indian Premier League but have slowly built a loyal fan following. DC have had some great players represent them over the years, including the likes of Virender Sehwag, Gautam Gambhir, AB de Villiers, David Warner, Kevin Pietersen and many others.
Delhi Capitals, previously known as Delhi Daredevils, had a pretty good roster in the early years of the IPL. But the desired results did not come their way and they decided to revamp the side. They tried to build from scratch but failed to do so and were consistently in the bottom half of the table during 2013-18.
In 2019, they turned their fortunes around by reaching the playoffs for the first time in seven years. They had a better season in the following year, where they reached the maiden IPL final but unfortunately lost against Mumbai Indians at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Gujarat Titans owner – Who is the owner of GT in IPL 2023?
The Delhi Capitals side is built around India's superstar wicket-keeper Rishabh Pant. However, the player was involved in an unfortunate accident and was ruled out of any form of cricket action in 2023. Pant has recovered well and is set to participate in the IPL 2024, albeit only as a specialist batter.
Rishabh Pant was present at the DC table in the recent IPL auction, where the franchise brought in some names into the set-up. Harry Brook at INR 4 crore and Tristan Stubbs at 50 lakhs were excellent buys from Delhi. They spent 7.20 crore to get the uncapped Indian wicket-keeper batter Kumar Kushagra.
Delhi Capitals will enter the IPL 2024 with new enthusiasm and will be hoping to put up a better performance than the previous season.
