After the rain-marred the opening encounter, India and Ireland lock horns yet again in the second T20I of the three-match series on Sunday (August 20).
The visitors won the first T20I by just two runs by the DLS method to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Will they be able to seal the series though? Read below for our IRE vs IND match prediction.
India registered their 6th T20I win over Ireland the other night but Ireland will be proud of the way they fought. They were in trouble at one stage having lost six wickets for just 59 runs in the 11th over. But they did well to post 139 runs on the board and then did considerably well to reduce India to 47/2 in the 7th over.
We could’ve witnessed a low-scoring thriller if not for the rain that played spoilsport in the end. A confident Ireland will now look to level the series while India would also want a full game to extend their dominance against Ireland.

Ireland
Ireland will be gutted that they didn’t get a full game in the series opener. Nevertheless, they will be quietly confident of the way they played. After being reduced to 31/5 and then 59/6, they managed to add 80 more runs thanks to Barry McCarthy who smashed an unbeaten 51 off 33 balls with four fours and as many sixes.
Curtis Campher and Mark Adair also did well to hang around in the middle.With the ball too, Josh Little and McCarthy did well to keep a lid on the run-scoring while Craig Young was exceptional picking up two wickets in his first over itself before rain came down heavily.
The hosts are unlikely to make any changes to their playing XI despite a batting collapse upfront in the powerplay overs. Gareth Delany is a deserving candidate to slot back straight into the playing XI but he might have to wait a bit more.

Though he didn’t pick up any more wickets, Bumrah ended with figures of 2/24 and it helped him won the Player of the Match award as well.
Arshdeep Singh hasn’t been great in death overs in recent time and the same continued in the previous game as well. But he is expected to retain his place. Also, it would be unfair on any of the players to be left out only after one match.
