The infamous ‘Bodyline' series in 1932-33 forced a change in the laws of the game. England and Australia have been two of the oldest cricketing members so it's not a surprise they have faced each other an enormous amount of times. The two teams have played 534 matches against each other across three formats. Australia have won 247 of those games while England have claimed 184 matches.

Australia have been the more successful side in the ENG vs AUS rivalry. The two competitors have faced each other in 356 Tests in the Ashes history. Australia have won 150 matches whereas England have won 110. As many as 96 matches have ended in draws.

The Ashes is held in these two countries in alternate editions. Australia have been very dominant in their own backyard. There have been 185 Tests played in Australia, with the home side winning 99 of those and England coming out on top in 57 games.

Don Bradman, widely regarded as the greatest, tops the list of most runs scored in the ENG vs AUS head to head rivalry. He played 37 Tests against England, amassing 5028 runs at an average of 89.78. Bradman hit 19 centuries in this rivalry. Bradman's 974 runs in the 1930 series at an average of 139.14 still remains a record for most runs in a series.
