Eng vs Aus head to head: Ashes tests, ODI, T20

ENG vs AUS head to head is always a blockbuster event not just in Test cricket but other two formats as well. England and Australia share the most prestigious and storied rivalry in cricket. The Ashes is one of the biggest attractions in the sport with not only fans from these two countries but also from other countries following it madly. ENG vs AUS is always a blockbuster event not just in Test cricket but other two formats as well and here's the head to head for the rivalry.

The first time England and Australia faced off was in 1876-77. The Ashes originated in 1882 when England lost the solitary Test and The Sporting Times declared it the death of English cricket stating, “The body will be cremated and the ashes taken to Australia.” Since then, the two teams have given it their all to claim the Ashes urn.

The infamous ‘Bodyline' series in 1932-33 forced a change in the laws of the game. England bowled fast and at the bodies of the Australian batters in this series with close-in fielders on the leg side. England won the Ashes series by 4-1 but the bodyline tactic was considered against the sportsmanship spirit and received heavy criticism.

The rivalry has had some of the greatest names in the sport. From Don Bradman to Jack Hobbs to Ian Botham to Glenn McGrath to Shane Warne to Steve Smith, the list is endless. It also has witnessed some of the greatest moments. Be it the 2005-06 Ashes series, which is regarded as the best ever, or the 2019 Ashes where Ben Stokes did the unthinkable at Headingley.

But who has had the upper hand in the ENG vs AUS Head to Head rivalry.
