Ruturaj Gaikwad centuries – ODI, Test, T20Is and IPL

If you are looking for information on Ruturaj Gaikwad centuries, you are here at the right place. Gaikwad recently became the 10th Indian and the ninth Indian man to score a hundred in T20Is. The others are Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul, Deepak Hooda, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Shubman Gill, and Harmanpreet Kaur.

Gaikwad scored his maiden T20I century when India locked horns with Australia in the third T20I of the five-match series on Tuesday, November 28 at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. He also racked up the second-highest individual score for India in T20Is after Shubman Gill’s 126 not out against New Zealand back in February at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Ruturaj Gaikwad centuries

Gaikwad brought up his half-century off 32 balls after which he reached the three-figure landmark off 52 deliveries. The right-handed Gaikwad scored 123 not out off 57 balls with the help of 13 fours and seven sixes. However, his knock went in vain as Glenn Maxwell’s 47-ball hundred helped the Aussies chase down a mammoth target of 223.

Another of Ruturaj Gaikwad centuries came in the IPL back in October 2021. Against the Rajasthan Royals at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Gaikwad racked up an unbeaten 101 off 60 balls with the help of nine fours and five sixes. On the back of his knock, the Super Kings posted a decent score of 189 for the loss of four wickets on the board.

But Gaikwad’s knock went in vain as the Royals chased down the target with 15 balls to spare. Gaikwad, however, won the Player of the Match award for his stupendous knock for the five-time champions. In 2022, Gaikwad missed out on scoring a hundred after he got out on 99 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Maharashtra Cricket Association (MCA) Stadium in Pune.

Ruturaj Gaikwad highest score in ODIs

Ruturaj Gaikwad has made a name for himself for India in T20Is with the spectacular knock, but he is yet to show his worth in ODIs. In four matches thus far, Gaikwad has only scored 106 runs at an average of 26.50 and a strike-rate of 73.10.

Gaikwad got his top score 71 when India and Australia faced each other just before the ODI World Cup. The right-handed batter got scores of 19, 8 and 8 in his first three ODIs, but he made amends against the Aussies on September 22 at the PCA Stadium in Mohali.

Gaikwad scored 71 runs off 77 balls with 10 fours and helped India chase down a target of 277 with eight balls to spare. Gaikwad and Gill put on 142 runs for the opening wicket off 21.4 overs to lay the platform for the Men in Blue in their run-chase.

Gaikwad got out in the 22nd over after Adam Zampa dismissed him LBW. Meanwhile, after his hundred against Australia in Guwahati, Gaikwad has made a strong case for himself ahead of the T20 World Cup to be played next year in the West Indies and United States of America (USA).
