Punjab Kings (PBKS) will clash with Mumbai Indians (MI) in Match 45 of the Indian Premier League 2023 at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium, Mohali. The last match-up between both teams in this season witnessed PBKS emerging victorious by 13 runs. 

PBKS have five victories in nine appearances and are at the sixth position, while MI have four victories in eight games and are seventh in the points table. 

In their last league match, PBKS registered a thrilling victory over Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk by four wickets. They chased down the target of 201, with collective efforts of the batting unit. Prabhsimran Singh and Liam Livingstone scored 42 and 40 runs respectively.

It will be interesting to see which of the two teams continue their winning run to stake their claim for the playoffs spot. With the race for the playoffs getting heated with every passing match, PBKS and MI both teams have very little margin of error having lost four matches each so far.

Things have been pretty even in the match-ups between both teams since the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League. Punjab Kings and Mumbai Kings have emerged victorious on 15 occasions apiece in 30 matches. 

The recent one was played on April 23 at Wankhede, wherein MI opted to chase down the score. Led by Sam Curran (55) and Harpreet Bhatia (41), PBKS slammed 214 on the board. Piyush Chawla and Cameron Green picked two wickets each for MI. 

In reply, Mumbai had a strong start with Green (67) and Suryakumar Yadav (57), but a terrific four-fer by Arshdeep Singh led PBKS to a 13-run victory.
