They lost their last five wickets for just 14 in four overs with Mitchell Santner and Lockie Ferguson picking up three wickets apiece. Rahmat Shah was the top scorer for Afghanistan scoring 36 runs off 62 deliveries in the chase.

Glenn Phillips came out to bat when New Zealand had lost three wickets and things could’ve gone either way. But the man batted patiently with his skipper and resurrected the innings big time. Phillips scored 71 off 80 deliveries with four fours and as many sixes to his name. He deservedly won the Player of the Match award in this match.
