India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup final match prediction: India to win
India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup final toss prediction: India to win the toss and bat first
The Asia Cup 2023 final is set to be played between India and Sri Lanka on Sunday (September 17). While India picked up two wins in the Super Four stage against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, the Lankans managed to overcome Bangladesh and Pakistan to reach the summit clash.
India failed to win their last match of the Super Four stage against Bangladesh. The management decided to rest key players like Virat Kohli, Mohammed Siraj, Hardik Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah for this dead-rubber clash and fell short by six runs in the clash.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, had a pretty close encounter against Pakistan in a match that was also heavily interrupted by rain. The hosts pulled off a last-ball win to reach the final of the Asia Cup yet again and will be determined to go all the way for the fifth time in the 50-over format of the tournament.
Date & time: September 17, 3 PM IST
Venue: R Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

India
Having given opportunities to youngsters like Tilak Varma and Prasidh Krishna in the previous match, Rohit Sharma and company will revert back to their strongest playing XI in this all-important clash. India last won the Asia Cup in 2018 and will be eager to add a seventh continental cup to their cabinet.
India will be without Axar Patel for this game, after he suffered multiple blows to his hand while batting against Bangladesh. Washington Sundar will replace him in the squad.
#TeamIndia put up a solid fight as the things went right down to the wire but it was Bangladesh who won the match.

Pitch and expected weather conditions
Ever since, the tournament has started, there has been a rain interruption in India’s matches at least. Nothing changes in the forecast for September 17 as there is more than a 60% chance of rain during the match. As far as the temperature is concerned, it will be around 25-30 Degrees Celsius with a lot of humidity around 80%, like it has been right through this week.
The pitch in Colombo has favoured the spinners this tournament. This has led to the teams opting to bat first after winning the toss. Win the toss, bat first, post around 240-260 runs and then defend it with the spinners turning it big has been a mantra at this venue so far.
India vs Sri Lanka Asia Cup final Dream11 prediction
Our India vs Sri Lanka Dream11 predictions for this match:
- Wicket keepers: Kushal Mendis, KL Rahul
- Batters: Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill, Charith Asalanka, Sadeera Samarawickrama
- All-rounders: Ravindra Jadeja, Dunith Wellalage
- Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Matheesha Pathirana
- Recommended captain: Shubman Gill
- Recommended vice-captain: Kuldeep Yadav
Shubman Gill is the pick of the options for captaincy, who is currently enjoying the form of his life. He is currently the leading run-scorer in international cricket in 2023, with 1,559 runs in 33 matches. He is also the only batter with 1,000 ODI runs in 2023.
Kuldeep Yadav has been in splendid form in the ongoing Asia Cup, picking up nine wickets in his last two matches for the side. With the pitch assisting the spinners a lot, the left-arm leg-spinner might be called onto action a lot sooner and might have a big say in deciding the outcome.
India vs Sri Lanka toss prediction: India to win the toss and bat first
Team India batted first on the two occasions out of the last three matches, out of which they won the toss on two occasions as well. Skipper Rohit Sharma has been having some fortune going his way in the coin-toss battle and is likely to win the toss again on Sunday.
Man of the match prediction: Shubman Gill
With a century against Bangladesh on very tricky playing conditions, Shubman Gill looks all geared up for this big contest. The young batter has already scored four centuries in 2023, out of which one was a double-century against New Zealand in Hyderabad. We predict him to come up with a match-winning knock for the most successful team in Asia Cup history.
