SRH vs KKR match preview

Sunrisers Hyderabad

The Sunrisers, led by Aiden Markram, are in quite a bit of trouble. They are placed ninth in the table with six points and a net run rate of -0.577 courtesy of wins in three out of eight matches. They will go into this SRH vs KKR prediction after beating Delhi Capitals (DC) by nine runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

After opting to bat first, the Orange Army put up a decent score of 197 for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma laid the platform for SRH by scoring 67 runs off 36 balls with 12 fours and one six. Mayank Agarwal, Rahul Tripathi, skipper Markram and Harry Brook failed to make an impact.

Later, it was Heinrich Klaasen’s unbeaten 27-ball 53, which gave the SRH innings a finishing kick. Abdul Samad and Akeal Hosein also played handy cameos of 28 and 16 not out respectively.

Thereafter, SRH restricted the Capitals to 188 for six in 20 overs. Mayank Markande finished with figures of 4-0-20-2 and picked up the crucial wickets of Phil Salt and Priyam Garg. Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Akeal Hosein, T Natarajan and Abhishek Sharma picked up one wicket apiece.

For the Capitals, Mitchell Marsh pulled off a stupendous all-round effort, but in vain. He won the Player of the Match after finishing with figures of 4-1-27-4 and scoring 63 off 39 with one four and six sixes.

SRH possible 11: Mayank Agarwal, Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram (c), Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Harry Brook, Abdul Samad, Mayank Markande, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Akeal Hosein, Umran Malik

Kolkata Knight Riders

The Knight Riders, led by Nitish Rana, haven’t had the best of campaigns thus far and need something spectacular to turn their fortunes around. They lost to Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans by seven wickets in their previous match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, putting them in a precarious position for our SRH vs KKR prediction.

Rahmanullah Gurbaz raced away to 81 off 39 balls with five fours and seven sixes after the Titans set KKR in to bat first. On the back of his knock, the Men in Gold and Purple scored 179 for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs. Andre Russell also used the long handle to good effect to score 34 runs off 19 balls on his 36th birthday.

The Titans chased down the target with 13 balls to spare after Vijay Shankar played a masterful knock of 51 off 24 balls with two fours and five sixes. Shubman Gill set the tone for GT with a knock of 49 off 35 with eight fours.

Shankar and David Miller put on a partnership of 87 runs for the fourth wicket off 39 balls to guide the Titans to yet another win.

KKR possible 11: Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Narayan Jagadeesan, Nitish Rana (c), Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, Andre Russell, Shardul Thakur, Sunil Narine, Suyash Sharma, Varun Chakravarthy and Harshit Rana.

Pitch and expected weather conditions

The pitch in Hyderabad is expected to be a sporting one. Batters can play their shots on the up without worrying about the bounce. There will be a 20 percent chance of rain throughout the duration of the game. Temperatures will be around the 29-degree Celsius mark.
